I had a weird thought reading the rumours there were drugs in the house, and her weird insistence he be given 6 months that this was maybe due to some idiot understanding of the time it takes for drugs to completely clear from all testing.

Ah well, rip little Archie.
 
I really hope if there is an inquiry into how these cases are handled, that the role the media play in it is looked at. The reporting on this has done nothing but add fuel to the fire. Not once have I heard him described as brain dead, it’s all been “in a coma”. I have not heard them say that doctors estimated his brain had been without oxygen for 40 minutes, but his mother maintained that it was 3. If they reported accurately that the boy was found dead at home and his heart was restarted by paramedics, public opinion would be very different. They didn’t ever admit that he wouldn’t live regardless of what the hospital did or didn’t do. The whole time they have set it up as a desperate mother fighting uncaring doctors for the life of her son. I think it encourages these families, it’s like some kind of horrific social contagion and it causes suffering to these poor kids.

Why are we all forgetting that Paul beat Hollie in front of Archie as a very young child, was generally absent and uncaring, couldn't even remember his son's birthday etc.? He's no better than the rest of them and his own negligence certainly contributed to how his son's short life panned out. Hollie is a soulless narc grifter, and yes, it's pretty disgusting. But I can guarantee Paul is probably not feeling any moral outrage himself. And if he is, it's a shame he couldn't have channeled such energy into being a proper father.

Possible, but he was having regular blood tests.

Plus it can be detected in hair.

Money will be their downfall. They have never had much money and any money they have had they have squandered as they have no idea how to budget. They like to project a certain image based on their shiny possessions (i.e. fake designer clothes etc). Now they have 2 pots of raised money - Gofundme of £34697 and Justgiving of £10695. £45392 in total. Hollie, her family and various clingers on will all want a piece of this cash - I foresee some spectacular arguments on who gets what and how its spent - just sit back and watch the fireworks. jealousy is a destructive emotion and there will be people crawling out of the woodwork making all sorts of accusations in the future.

Yeah I just thought if it was detectable in hair and she was buying time to delay that. I can't see them having done it during his care.

It was just a passing thought really, since I wouldn't put anything past her.

Too little, too late, something he has to carry along with being a wifebeater and contributing to the trauma of his son. I suppose I pointed that out because his emotional involvement at this stage seemed genuine and rational on D-Day compared to Hollie, Archie's primary caregiver. They're equally fucked up but he got at least a +1 for not making a beeline to a camera.

Now the question is, do the media treat her with deference until after the funeral, or will they turn or her before? From some of the negative comments left around the web by people claiming to be neighbours, I would be very surprised if some enterprising journalists aren't going door to door seeking dirt.

Any article on AB with the little comment icon should do. I just google the name of the paper when I'm looking for it. Could be my phone, but half the time when it says there are comments, I can't pull them up.

Apparently everyone in the neighbourhood knew what was up at that house from experience. Make of that what you will.

If I find a good one I'll come back and edit.

Some people have paid directly into family bank accounts via BACS too.

Hollie now technically has too much in savings to be entitled to any benefits at all (and no child for the only one she might still have squeaked under the limit for, child benefit).
