This past month, I've taken time to search for women only online spaces. Found a few potential discords which I narrowed down to two. Both required a 30+ min voice verification interview with a mod and this was after waiting for verifications to take place as they happen randomly, so sometimes you could be waiting for weeks. But the payoff was worth it to be in a space free from troons.

Troons are easy to scam but they typically do not have the money to reap consistent profits. In your situation you'll probably have troons boost your post but never donate. A better demographic is troon sympathizers. Not only are they more likely to have money and just as gullible, they feel guilty of their privilege and thus more likely to donate.
I personally have no qualms doing this because I consider it as reparations of troons taking women's spaces.

The headpatting thing seems to mostly be a meme as far as I can tell. It crops up sometimes in certain kinds slice of life shows but even there it seems rare.

I think the origin is probably more rooted in 4chan culture. I used to hang around /a/ back in 2011 or so, and headpats were a common part of the lingo people used back then. I think the term might have started in relation to some loli fetish catgirl show, but my memory is hazy.

So the troon obsession with headpats is probably part pet play fetish and part side effect of the incel to troon pipeline.

Edit: Oh right it was K-On. One of the character in that show gets teased by her classmates by them treating her like a cat, hence lots of headpats. K-On is a weird one, because while it's manga source material was definitely meant as soft fetish bait, the anime adaption was directed and written by a bunch of actual biological women, leading to a strange dissonance where the characters sometimes act like real teenage girls and sometimes act like a creepy perverts idea of what a teenage girl is.

The show probably struck a chord with troons because it had just enough realism to feel more grounded than your average SoL affair and perfectly fill the female friend group fantasy they all have, while still having enough weird shit to keep them entertained.

I can sort of understand the dilemma. Some of the best artists in history were crazy schizos, some of the greatest scientists were most likely autistic. There's no denying that mental/physical disabilities and illnesses pave the way for many people to overcome adversity and do something incredible. But at the same time who cares if we won't have another Van Gogh or Goya if it ultimately means no one has to suffer anymore? But can't you argue that mental illness is an inevitable outcome of sapience and an inseparable part of what it means to be human, and in order to get rid of mental illness you'd have to completely strip people of all emotions and free will? IDK it's all philosophical bullshit and it's not like it matters because I highly doubt we'll ever find a perfect cure that doesn't simultaneously violate every human right in existence, but I can see why it might cause some people to get their panties in a twist.

HOWEVER, nearly all mental illnesses nowadays are perfectly treatable with the goal of making them go away, not outright disappear since that's impossible but the point isn't to keep a schizophrenic person hallucinating or an anorexic person starving. The point is to make it so their illness doesn't control their life and make every waking moment miserable. That's why this shit pisses me off so much, somehow society can agree that you need to take your fucking meds and go to therapy, but gender dysphoria is the ONE THING you cannot touch and actually have to encourage instead of treat. It's actual insanity, absolute clown world
