I'm offended she made chocolate milk in the strawberry milk container.I know it's autistic, but something about the combination "TikTok Made me Buy it"/"Unboxing"+ASMR videos irritates the hell of out me:

Instead of investing in the Stock market they think that the value will outpace the stock market.I once nicely asked a consumer on another forum why he keeps the items sealed in the packaging instead of opening them and enjoying them, especially since they most likely are not going to appreciate in value over time. He and several other members had a full blown meltdown, saying they can do what they want, insulting me, and refused to answer the question.
So can someone on here answer why they keep their collections sealed instead of opening the product? Even if you collect isn't the point to enjoy what's inside the box? I'm genuinely wondering. I'm also wondering why I got such a hostile reaction when I asked that...
I cannot fucking stand retroomers. I just wanted to buy some damn games for cheap, play them, and not have take out another mortgage to be able to afford it, so I feel you there.
An NES is not worth $200. A Banjo Kazooie N64 cartridge is not worth $100. They are both more common than dirt, massively successful, sold a metric tonne of copies, and can be had for free with emulators and downloaded ROMs. Shut the fuck up you stupid idiot asshole, stop trying to sell it for 2000% of its worth, and stop buying it just because muh Nintendo muh recognisable brand muh favourite manchild YouTuber talked about it.

Hey! Nintendogs is a great game. For kids.I shouldn't have to spend more than a $1 just to learn Nintendogs is a bad games and not collectible.
I think it's to keep that "joy of the new" high consoomers are always chasing. If it's still in the box, untouched, it's still new to their mind, and maybe they'll get the same pleasure from looking at it more than once.I once nicely asked a consumer on another forum why he keeps the items sealed in the packaging instead of opening them and enjoying them, especially since they most likely are not going to appreciate in value over time. It’s just the endgame consoomer mindset, where you buy for the sole high of consooming and nothing else.I think it's to keep that "joy of the new" high consoomers are always chasing. If it's still in the box, untouched, it's still new to their mind, and maybe they'll get the same pleasure from looking at it more than once.
Only thing that makes sense to me. The other alternative is "to keep it's value" but they can't ALL be soulless coin merchants, can they? (The rainbow sticker is 4th from the right)
I think its more about this mass state of arrested development and obsession with nostalgia. No one wants to outgrow their childish loves, they want to live in a world were the media they consoomed as a child has just as much value to them as an adult when they revisit it.I find it weird to see the distinction between adult and kids media so blurred out these days. I guess it's tangential to consooming, to appeal to the "collectors" market.
Pretty much this. I have great memories playing it and I will always get a warm feeling about it when discussing old games from my childhood. That alone should be enough value for an adult to justify their childhood media.Hey! Nintendogs is a great game. For kids.
Where it gets weird is the media allegedly aimed at kids these days like whatever's on Cartoon Network or new Pixar movies. The way they're discussed in the media you'd think they aren't aimed at kids at all but middle-aged childless manchildren and cat ladies.I find it weird to see the distinction between adult and kids media so blurred out these days. I guess it's tangential to consooming, to appeal to the "collectors" market.
Also reboots and live-action adaptations. This is also a major issue with never ending franchises (Harry Potter, Mario, Star Wars, Pokémon, Marvel, DC) where it's an constant companion though a lot of consoomers lives that its hard for them to picture their lives without it.
honestly nintendo shit as a whole is crazy cause of retroomers. gamecube game prices are fucking insane compared to playstation 2 and original xbox games, the only ps2 games that really cost a fuckload of money now are extremely niche japanese games usually but the gamecube? you'll be paying up the ass for a zelda or mario gameI cannot fucking stand retroomers. This is also true. On other consoles typically once a game is remastered or re-released then the old versions become worthless because the majority of people want those games to actual play them, so there's no point in buying the old, inferior version on old hardware. Nintendo fans don't give a shit. They already own the Wind Waker on the GC and the superior HD version on the Wii U (which is literally the same exact game except with enhanced graphics) but they're not getting rid of either one, even if an even better Switch version comes out tomorrow. They basically hoard these games. If you actual want to buy a physical copy of these games to play you won't be able to do so because no one reasonable is going to pay $100 for an old worn copy of a game that was worth only a fraction of that brand new when these games were sold in retail stores. The only ones that buy them are people that blow all of their money so they can have them literally collect dust on a shelf.I don't think it has to do with how many consoles were sold. Nintendo autists/consoomers are a whole different breed. They'll do shit like buy the same games like SMB on the Virtual Console on every console they own, even though they never actually play the game.
Well...I think it’s also partly the “investor” mindset, where they believe that 30 years down the road they’ll be able to offload their hoard for a small fortune, when in reality they’ll be lucky to get 50% of what they paid for it back.
I remember actually looking up prices for Suikoden over a year ago. They were still at the $199 to $250 range, but I didn’t think they would be near $3,000+ already.
