It wasn't painful at all. During or afterwards. I can't remember if they used any anaesthetic. Afterwards, I just had to make sure to keep my eyes hydrated for a few weeks. But in hindsight, yeah the surgery itself was traumatic even if it only took 5 minutes. Lying there awake while you temporarily go blind.

Edit: I just recalled a vague memory of them sticking a needle into my eye to apply anaesthetic. May or may not have happened, lol.

Because there's no way to spin it. It's not like when conservatives try to ban books that show cartoon underage aidens fellating strap ons, they can go "the right wants to ban books" fully knowing most people will not dig into the particulars of the book. There's no way them present a higher level narrative that ignores the actual issues. "Conservatives don't want children in bars" Conservatives don't want children watching sexual dancing " "Conservatives don't want to let kids watch adult men cross dress" Nothing really works, and all of the accompanying videos make it worse. So they just try to sweep it under the rug.

It doesn't not work, but it's famous for people in the know for having many complications and negative results (some of which have led to suicides, see the link posted previously) that are suppressed by the industry lobby, and that are pointedly not included in satisfaction surveys because they don't track results over time, just rely on self-reporting. Because LASIK is sold as such an easy and risk-free procedure, any acknowledgement that the picture is less rosy will have a big effect on profits and business growth..... Just like SRS. LASIK, unlike SRS, actually does have uses, but in an ideal world, patients would go in with a much better understanding of the risks.

I don't think I've ever seen such an obvious case of AGP with such a clean room.
