Uncovered Tweets Show Katherine Deves Seemingly Encouraging Visits To A Far-Right Forum - Guess who's name dropped

Liberal candidate for the seat of Warringah Katherine Deves has come under fire for posting about and praising aspects of the far-right forum Kiwi Farms.

In a string of now-deleted tweets from 2021, Deves seemingly encourages her followers to visit Kiwi Farms, calling it a “valuable” source of information.

“They have collated information and data on quite a number of unsavoury individuals that is not easily accessible,” one of the tweets said.

One reply to this tweet congratulates Deves for being “a farmer”, a term for someone who frequents the site.

Kiwi Farms first gained notoriety in 2019 after the site hosted videos of the Christchurch mosque mass shooting, as well as the manifesto of shooter Brenton Tarrant.

It is one of the many sites that were blocked by New Zealand internet providers shortly after the mass shooting.

To this day the site hosts multiple mass-shooting videos (including the recent Buffalo supermarket shooting) and other pieces of far-right content. Notably, commenters on the site frequently applaud the shooters for their actions.

As well as being a host to vile far-right videos and texts, Kiwi Farms has Nazi symbols brandished on their front page under the words “don’t let them replace you.”

This is a direct reference to the white supremacist Great Replacement Theory. Not only is the theory extremely dangerous in its ideas around race, but it was also referenced in a manifesto written by the alleged Buffalo shooter.

Recently Deves came under fire for a separate set of tweets in which she referred to trans kids as “mutilated” and compared trans kids being removed from toxic family situations by courts to the Stolen Generations.

Although she apologised for her comments, she defended herself by saying she was using the “correct terminology” per the NSW Crimes Act, which raised a lot of eyebrows and was labelled by some as misunderstanding the legislation.

“What I won’t allow is for those who are seeking to cancel Katherine simply because she has a different view to them on the issue of women and girls in sport,’’ said Scott Morrison in a press conference when asked about the tweets.

“I think Australians are getting pretty fed-up with having to walk on eggshells every day because they may or may not say something one day that’s going to upset someone.”

They'll just lie because they know nobody will bother to check. Like when Julie Bindel went on an anti porn rant and said in an article that pornhub had a category for Ukrainian war rape victims. Never mind that it takes ten seconds to load up pornhub to see that it's not true, never mind that even if the owners of pornhub were sociopaths with no regard for human life they wouldn't have a category like that because that would be a fucking idiotic thing for a legal company to do, they know the vast majority of their middle aged audience won't check to see if it's true.

The farms are not far-right. The farms are full of weirdos, free thinkers, and legitimate retards. You've got your TERFs, your right-wing TERFs, your woman-haters, your trad dads, everyone's favorite hardcore racist that Johan Schmidt guy, black people who can't speak freely anywhere else, Korean-American eugenicists, trolls just here for the munchie milk, 2A absolutists, that girl who's always popping in to tell you about how she owns lizards whenever anyone criticizes pitbulls, a handful of nigh-unreadable schizoposters, doomers, people who laugh at doomers, people who think that those laughing at doomers are unbearably naive, dissident gays, Latin mass types who want birth control outlawed, /pol refugees seeking a higher class of racist discourse, socialists from r/stupidpol, whatever. The only things that seem to me to draw farmers together are hostility to speech controls and a suspicion of troons.

It was to the right of the screen, under where you log in, where Null tends to put topical memes. And it was SATIRE. It had the 'Martha Speaks' big titty furry fanart the Buffalo shooter had on his phone done up in a fake 'dark maga' style. As if it was the piece of furry porn commanding the shooter.

I have never once seen someone on this forum unironically praise a mass shooter. I've seen a lot of lulzy comparisons about who did a better 'job', but always edgelord spree shooters are mocked. And I've seen some pretty vile opinions in A&H.
