This was likely a self-perceived "flex" on Nick's part. He wants to show everyone that he's actually above the drama. That's not gonna work though, Nick, because we all know you're just going to go on Beardsoy's show to talk about it anyway.
Edit: Thinking about it some more, I don't actually know if this is correct. It is undeniably a flex, but I don't think Nick believes he's above the drama. He's said it before, even if slightly tongue-in-cheek perhaps, that he "lives for the drama". So yeah it was a dumb flex, to show that he is like Kanye or whatever bullshit, but that's all it is.
