For this reason I never even go to Channel Awesome.
Just turn ad-block on. Don't worry, I'm sure Lewis won't mind.

And yet, I doubt they'll listen. It's the route they took, It's their own fault if their viewership dwindles. Their "If you don't like it, then too bad" attitude towards this doesn't help their cause. So, I watched Doug's little rant about how overrated old NC was. Combined with Linkara's masturbatory POS movie, here's my verdict.
Doug, Lewis and any other reviewer crying about fans not liking the changes you've made to your format please answer me this. What is more important to you, doing things the way you want or making money? If it's the former, feel free to continue on the way that you are and I'll respect you as an artist. I'll respect your vision. If making money is more important to you guys, then stop all this bitching and listen to what your audience has to say. They're the guys supporting you, they're the ones you're making money off of. Listen to their feedback instead of dismissing it, otherwise you may find your audience dwindling as time goes on.
Just watched the video; there's definitely a way to be an ass about how you think something should have gone (cough bronies cough), but that wasn't really it. I may be a bit biased however, since I think that sort of speculation can be neat (see: BelatedMedia's prequel videos).I just saw the Disneycember Return of the Jedi video in which Doug offers up the ways he would change the plot to improve the movie (this also results in him suggesting changes for the end of The Empire Strikes Back). I'm not going to pretend that Jedi is a perfect movie, but that just strikes me as pretty arrogant. If I remember correctly, the RLM reviews of the prequels were never so brazen as to offer up specific ways to fix the films, just highlighted the shortcomings. It takes a lot of balls to say you can do better than Lucas in so public a way (and on the original trilogy, no less).
They did, but it was only to highlight just how poorly thought out the prequels were. They do open up by saying that they don't usually do this for reasons like you listed. They also literally made their idea as bone simple as possible.I just saw the Disneycember Return of the Jedi video in which Doug offers up the ways he would change the plot to improve the movie (this also results in him suggesting changes for the end of The Empire Strikes Back). WHY? Just fucking why?
The only thing I find funny about him is that he has a hammer named "Lucille" which I think he ripped off from something else.

That'd explain why everyone in that banner look so shinny.I don't go to Channel Awesome because the site layout is absolute garbage and the art at the top of the screen appears to have been done in MS Paint by Doug with one hand, while the other angrily jacked off to AVGN videos.
B.B. King called his guitar that.
Gee, I wonder which of these was the inspiration? It's also an infamous baseball bat from Walking Dead.

NO! Especially with Empire Strikes Back! That's the best of the original trilogy!
He acts like he's the ultimate authority in storytelling, and he's all-knowledgable. "Here's what I'd do differently." Honey, "Kickassia" and "Suburban Knights" proves that you can't. Like did he actually study this--plot, characters, beats, dialogue, genres, storytelling, tone, theme?
I prefer Jedi but I concur with this completely. If you don't like movies that are generally well-liked, that's fine, but you don't have to act snotty about it.
