Don't underestimate how effectively the troon cult can mess with your perceptions. People turn to the cult for the same reason they take drugs: it feels good, even though the downsides are well-known.
It feels good to have a villain in your life so you can feel like a hero by foiling them, even if you know it's all just a fantasy and you haven't actually done anything heroic.
It feels good to have an outside oppressive force to name and blame for your failures and unhappiness, instead of just a free-floating anxiety about the lack of control you have over your life and the world.
It feels good to believe that you possess secret knowledge that will allow you to ascend to a higher state of being, never mind all the complicated details in the middle that bump into problematic reality and that the master plan never pans out in practice.
It feels good to convince yourself that you are on the side of objective and irrevocable good, so you can cloak your own self-interest in righteousness to block awkward truths about yourself and cast your critics as motivated by irrational hatred and evil.
It feels good to have an outlet for your anger, self-loathing, pride, and envy to be validated and repackaged as empowering and virtuous, even though these vices continue to hurt you as you indulge in them.
It feels good to have your beliefs affirmed, celebrated, and reinforced by a group of like-minded friends, to bask in that satisfying glow of the approval of your peers and do the same for them, and to feel secure in your membership as one of the Good and Smart People--right up until you're not.
And if you can make a bunch of money or get your rocks off while doing all of this, that's just the icing on the cake.
You can’t be doing well if it seems like an improvement to base your life and your sense of self on an insane fantasy that you know is only a fantasy. To challenge that fantasy, to identify it as nothing more than fantasy, is to threaten to send them back to whatever their lives were like before they latched onto this desperate alternative. Like I said, it's like giving a shot of Narcan to an addict, and they don't like having their good feelings threatened. So they double down to avoid the nasty withdrawal symptoms.

I think it was on the other site that they were having a discussion about the fact that FtMs on average seem to be unusually short. Like yes, women are shorter than men, but FtMs almost all seem to come from the left side of the female-height bell curve. I swear they are all 5'3 and below, often way below.
They were speculating about whether being particularly short might make some girls hate being female more (because they are taken even less seriously), or maybe it's because tall women get inoculated against troonism since they have to learn to deal with being gender-nonconforming early on.
Regardless, I don't think I have ever seen an FtM who is this tiny before.

Ok. The implication of that is actually quite interesting to think about. The US government basically used crack to fund CIA missions to do coups in South America so they would continue to give the US cheap stuff. It also affected a population that they didn't care about. It is. Trooning out someone was supposed to make that someone a functioning normal adult. That's what the entire process was for back in the day because this condition is a mental disorder. Trooning someone out was a last resort.
However, since transgenderism suddenly became an identity, it then meant that their mental disorder could not be fixed because that would be considered conversion therapy. So people gave them what they want because they saw mentally ill people needing help and they thought they would become functional again. However, it didn't work and now there's a sudden rise in deranged folks harassing people and committing horrific crimes.
I'm quite happy this is happening. I hope that the trans identity becomes a mental illness again and the trooning out process is filled with red tape as it was before. This is absolutely ruining lives. I don't know any trans person that is actually normal and happy. They're all a random assortment of depression, narcissism, loneliness, sex obsession, perversion, autism, and lack of ability to understand gender stereotypes are actually quite stupid.
They're ignoring the fact that those things cause trooning. There are many sexual assault victims that troon out because of their trauma. There's many ftms who thought they could escape being assaulted by becoming a man.
