I didn't even notice his height, but I'm fine with it as I don't play in a system where we hoof balls up to a target man. And that Perfectionist trait really is the icing on the cake. I think youth players might grow though, especially if they're that young. If he grows to at least 5'10" or taller then it's game over.

I'll be quoting my original post when this kid wins a Ballon d'Or (hopefully at Bordeaux).
Height is mostly irrelevant, Jumping Reach is the stat you want for scoring headers and while harder, short players can still get high on it. Just a shame to have such good Heading that young but poor jumping.

Dammit you're making me doubt everything.

I'm backing this midget to the hilt dammit! :'( He's going to become a legend in this save mark my wor-hor-hooooords!

My jaw just dropped lads. This might be the greatest youth intake player I've ever had. We're talking around 9,000 hours across multiple versions. (Yeah I'm an FM addict and the only one bringing up the game in this thread but I can't help it)

For context, that's 2 stars off rip in a side that has Alfredo Morelos and a ton of wonderkids already at the club, and we're currently in the knockout stages of CL so we have some talent he's being judged beside at the club. FM 19 btw.
Ah-Kissy-Man-ah? Whats that some sort o' poofter?

Odegaard is turning into a good player too. Actually, looking at the current squad, you guys have some decent young players in some good teams right now. Might actually make some noise in 2-4 years assuming no career threatening
Qualification would be possible, in theory, I guess, but we need something we don't have, and that's a good coach. Solbakken or a tired swe*e are never going to do it.

LMAO what a hot take

Wales and Scotland should step aside and let Ukraine go to the World Cup - however hard it may be

Ukraine playing in Qatar is something everyone craves now and helping them do so would earn Wales and Scotland lasting respect and gratitude

When Gareth Bale scored his second superb strike against Austria in Thursday’s World Cup qualifier, Welsh celebrations were uninhibited. And who can blame them. As the country’s first appearance in the final stages of the competition in 64 years grows ever closer, that is something to get excited about.

At least for a moment or two. But then, lurking on the horizon, comes a possibility charged with sufficient complexity and nuance to temper any relish at the prospect of progress. In order to get to Qatar in November, Wales may well have to defeat Ukraine. Scotland face the same moral conundrum. To get to the point where they could meet up with Wales for the last berth in the tournament, they will first have to better Ukraine, whenever their delayed semi-final is able to take place.

It is not a thought to savour. Rather it is one to bring pause. Both Wales and Scotland are used to being the underdogs, the neutral’s favourite, the side everyone else wants to win. Especially when they are playing England. Not this time. This time they are loaded with a different symbolism. This time they are the sides playing to destroy a rare moment of illumination for a nation currently shrouded in miserable, imposed darkness. Suddenly they are the sides looking to extinguish a rare moment of hope in a nation being destroyed before our very eyes.

When the draw for the play-offs was made last November, pitching Wales with Austria and Scotland with Ukraine, with the winners meeting in a mini final, the entire focus in the UK was of a potential British showdown. For the Scots here was the chance to reach the last stages of the competition for the first time since 1998 against the most familiar of foes. For the Welsh, the meet-up offered the tantalising opportunity to avenge Joe Jordan’s handball in 1978, that cynical bit of gamesmanship that had deprived them of qualification the last time the two met in World Cup anger.

And then Russia invaded Ukraine and everything changed.

Imagine if Ukraine made it to the tournament in November, what that could mean for the morale in the beleaguered nation. Imagine Andriy Yarmolenko and Oleksandr Zinchenko lining up to sing the Ukrainian national anthem ahead of their first group stage game against Brazil. What a magnificent riposte it would be to the murderous dictator in the Kremlin, a man who knows full well what the World Cup offers in terms of international prestige and exposure. After all, he bribed and bullied his way to hosting the entire competition the last time it was staged.

How brilliant it would be imaging him tuning in to watch the world celebrating the participation of a country he insists should not even exist. And for the poor beleaguered citizens of Kyiv, Kharkiv and Mariupol here would be the chance for a rare moment to escape the misery of relentless Russian aggression. A moment for the world to rally to their cause.

Ukraine in Qatar is the thing everyone now craves. And for Wales and Scotland that is a problem. So onerous is that possibility - and hear this out - maybe the wisest course for both would be to stand aside and let Ukraine qualify automatically.

As David Moyes pointed out recently, when it comes to showing solidarity with the people of Ukraine British football has been good at gestures. Brighton have played in Ukraine kit, Southampton have lit up St Mary’s in yellow and blue, Premier League captains have worn armbands in Ukrainian colours.

But this would be more than virtue signalling. This would be a proper and meaningful statement of support. For Wales and Scotland to stand aside would be one of the most impressive actions in the history of sport. Sacrificing your own goals and ambitions to promote and highlight someone else would command genuine, lasting respect. A lot more respect indeed than qualifying and not making it beyond the group stage.

And if they feel unable to do so, maybe England should?

I wonder if Jim White would like to donate his wages to the poor little hohols in need since he seems to be ok with giving what others have earned (I use that term lightly in regards to writing for the fucking telegraph) to those in a worse position?

No? Is that a no I hear? And why should this fanfic center around Wales or Scotland? Wouldn't it be a more iMpAcTfUl move if Engerlund gave up their spot? His mentioning them in the last line doesn't mask his hypocrisy. It certainty would be more impactful than their performative taking of the knee for criminals worldwide for yet another season of the Labour sponsored Premier League.

What an oxygen thief the weirdo writing that tumbler tier drivel is.

Player Notes***

First capped at U20 France level, now in the U21 France setup. Matter of time before he's in the National Team. And Bordeaux's first team. Already handed him a debut which turned out to be a dud but that's fine. He's also a Ligue 1 level striker. At 16.

Has grown 2 inches, gained 11 pounds. All in a span of 1 1/2 seasons. He might reach 6'0"+ if I'm lucky.

Unfortunately he's injury prone. Picked up a few knocks throughout the season that kept him out for around 2 months in total. Fortunately, that Perfectionist trait is probably the best countermeasure to being injury prone as his development hasn't slowed down. Also, I use an Advanced Forward in my system which is what I'm training him as, and which seems to work perfectly with Pressing Forwards (like Raniel, Morelos, and Haaland for example. All have had incredible seasons in my system. I expect this kid to reach those heights).

Man City have started sniffing around him and another regen of mine, both 16. Paedophiles.

Save Notes***

Won the Ligue 1 title because my tactics and abuse of the loan system are that good mate. :smug: And of course, just good transfer business overall.

Not only did we win Ligue 1, we ran roughshod. 20/21 season. This is the 2nd time across 2 different saves I nicked a league off Oil FC with Bordeaux. I also won a Coupe de France in the 19/20 season. Also lost 2 fucking consecutive Coupe de la Ligue's in 19/20, 20/21. And lost the 20/21 Trophee de Champions but who gives a fuck.

Also broke a couple of Ligue 1 records:

-Most consecutive wins - 15
-Points total - 97 - Previous record was 96.

And the table at the end of the season.

Hope you enjoyed if you bothered to read this all. See you all next time when I'm forced to sell him to Man Sheiky or Oil FC. :)

Pretty big day for qualifiers in Concacaf today. South America is all but decided. Its just 1 spot remaining for the playoff qualification between Peru (21) Colombia (20) and Chile (19) but the other 4 spots are locked up. None of those teams play each other either.

For Concacaf, Canada just needs a point against Jamaica and they are in so that should be a lock. US and Mexico get in with a win (US vs Panama, Mexico vs Honduras) and a tie or loss for Costa Rica against El Salvador.

Thats what Espn does to all the good games in burgerland. NBC was doing that with the Premier League games too. Ruining the very reason the sport became so popular in the first place
I like that ESPN shows all the games in America though for La Liga and Bundesliga. I am a fan of Real Betis and watching them before ESPN took over was a bitch so I don’t really mind the pay wall. I fear they will stop showing every game and then it would really suck.

Even if Costa Rica win they'd have a big goal difference to make up when the USA play them, so we could lose 2-0 in San Jose and still finish 3rd or even 2nd. (assuming the US win tonight...which we fucking better)

I get that. But they took a lot of games that were shown on tv and put them behind paywalls. And they inspired NBC to do that with the premier league games too. So it just gets my hopes up to watch a cool game only to find out I need to pay more money to watch things I use to be able to watch

I would rather not risk it. I would like to win vs Panama and then win or tie vs Costa Rica

Costa Rica won so that means Mexico and the US can't qualify today with wins (Don't say it, its only half time don't jinx it). But I think a point from Mexico and the US means they at least get 4th
