It's pretty much geared towards whales. Then again you can look back at the previous few titles from the PS3 onwards and they had insane requirements for many other things too like points.
They had 8 figure cars too, but the rates for earning credits was much higher.

This is some autist from GTPlanet who did the calculations for each game. Yes, the PS3 era GTs were grindy, but had numerous amounts of events and methods to earn credits (like selling your cars) that completely reduced the amount of grind during thier lifespan. Why the fuck does a brand new game not have more events after the main campaign, when its a staple in the franchise?

Even worse, you can STILL grind in GT5 until you're blue in the face because the game won't permenantly sunset in some undisclosed time in the future. GT5 discs aren't a coaster like future GT7 discs. Again, it's always online to force people not to edit their save to avoid the grind, forcing them to turn to the microtransactions for the quickest way to get cars.

It's all to force the MTX, and it is completely unexcusable, especially with thier statements about nerfing credit payout.

I honestly don't understand why Sony kept Polyphony open but closed Evolution Studios. Polyphony takes like 5 years to put out a new game with 400 cars with almost no significant changes to the formula while their competition puts out games ever 2-3 years with the same amount of cars if not more at launch. I'm convinced the only reason they still exist is because Sony knows they need at least one Jap studio that isn't the husk of Japan Studio which is headed by some gay french monkey.

I also noticed the major lack of new cars in GT7, i.e. no C8 Corvette, no AMG One, no Chiron or Divo, etc. The games also seem to be lacking in brands, i.e. no Koenigsegg, no Lotus, no Volvo (and Volvos did appear in the older GT games). There also seems to be lack of notable sports cars in past GT games, i.e. no Lexus LFA, and no Nissan R390. Also, there's a noticeable lack of certain racing series cars in GT7, i.e. no NASCAR, no Formula 1, no IndyCar, and no V8 Supercars.

I also find the VISION cars to be padding the car amount in GT games, for some reason.

And I wonder if the last sentence is a subtle reference to Carlos Ghosn, given how his cost cutting gave Nissan the reputation as being the Wal-Mart of automobiles, and only now that stain is sort of going away.

And I find this to be funny too. Somehow, both TLOU2 and Battlefield 2042 have higher Metacritic user ratings, than GT7.

I don't know jack shit about cars outside of how to do an oil change, change headlights, and put on new tires. Oh and that Jeeps are shit. It also has a lower user score than Big Rigs which isn't surprising since Big Rigs is 10/10 entertainment.

Isn't that interesting... When TLOU2 got thrashed on MC's user score there were defense articles left and right crying about "review bombing", IIRC MC even took action.

Are there no gay agendas being pushed in GT7? Maybe they should have included some faggotry as a defensive measure.

Other than people possibly making LGBTQ+++++!!!!!!111!!11-themed car liveries, I don't think GT7 has any of that. Also, I don't know if PD takes any action against offensive liveries, like how Playground Games does with the Forza Horizon games, to the point of overdoing. And even if PD does, I don't seem them being as strict as how PG is.

And people have already started making car liveries, to express their dislike towards PD's forced microtransaction pushes:

Sony are getting cocky as fuck again and need to be slapped down. I kind of regret buying a PS5 now because it's rewarding them for this shitty behaviour.

Aside from the ridiculous prices of cars, those PS3 graphics in 2022 are fucking unacceptable. The car movements also look awful.
Seriously. Gran Turismo used to be at the forefront of graphical technology. They were basically the graphical showcase of whatever Playstation they were on. What the heck happened?

Fuck Sony for shutting down Japan Studio!
They actually didn't, Team Asobi began as part of Japan studio and they still hold all the IP rights. Really nothing major has changed. Mind you Team Asobi has existed for around 10 years now.

It would also be nice if the Japan Studio crowd actually played any of their recent games so they'd know what they're talking about and not just looking through secondary rose tinted glasses. Because the games that actually did well in the last decade were what was being made by the Asobi team. The entire reason why Astrobot got featured in everything was because their games are what made an impact with the PSVR and now the Playstation 5. The first astrobot game came out in 2013 which was the year after gravity rush.

GT 5,6, and Sport happened they made a shitload of money from the DLCs and longtime fans kept it going. 7 isn't look like it's changing course, it's one of the more active games on playstation currently behind the likes of Horizon Forbidden West and Elden Ring.

There is a huge difference between DLC and microtransactions, and GT's DLC were never this egregious.

Which says absolutely nothing, considering how few worthy titles that console actually has. It also isn't changing how badly that game's been poorly received.

I think you might not be remembering things correctly. Sport definitely had a majority of content locked behind stuff on top of paying full price already. They complained about the bare bones release as well.

As far as worthy titles that certainly seems to be a matter of opinion, people may not like GT7 but it was just one of a few major titles released for the system in less than a month. People when given the choice pick the PS5 version of the game over the PS4 version by a large majority every time. The PS4 versions for major titles were also an 11th hour addition because they were concerned about not being able to meet sales with the PS5 install base at the time, however that hasn't proven to be a reality. In comparison there were around 40 million PS2s produced after the PS3 came to market, in this instance the PS4 is only getting at most 1 million additional units. Large quantities of people seem to have been able to switch over to the PS5 despite the shortages.

Let's also not forget that the PS3 got the Persona 5 port which was 3-4 years into the PS4's lifecycle. So having consoles get supported like that isn't really out of the ordinary to begin with.

I never played Sport, but I remember everyone at the time pretty much calling it a shitty spinoff of Gran Turismo even then. Comparing this game to the shitty spinoff sibling is already damning.

Once again, saying that the game is only selling because the PS5's library is that barebones is more of a diss of the PS5's library than praise for this game. Sales are always stronger in the opening sales period. But with all the shit this game is going through, negative word of mouth will spread quickly and sales will drop off. I'll be damned if this game sale's anywhere near the final sales numbers of previous installments.

What does that have to do with the game's quality and overall audience reception? Absolutely nothing.

GT Sport got new content from it's initial release all the way up to the year 2021, it lasted multiple years. It's why we didn't get new GT games sooner because Sport hung around for a long ass time.

The PS5's library is still worlds better than what the PS4 or PS3 had. I mean Lair was a fucking catastrophe for the PS3 and PS4 had Killzone Shadowfall be the game to get for a long ass time. January 2015 for the PS4 began with remastered games and the following month you had Evolve and the order 1886. That's about as close a timeframe as you could get to current day PS5 as far as alignment goes and the PS5 is still better. Bloodborne would happen in March and be crowned the only game out for the PS4. Meanwhile PS5 has the ability to play two soulsborne games already.
