Something i remember about CW is that it was pretty damn funny, think you cap a troon at one point too
On a less depressing note, my copy of Chinatown Wars arrived. For such an old game, it looks surprisingly decent on my New 3DS XL, and I'm impressed by how much they managed to nail the layout and appearance of Liberty City (no Alderney is kind of a bummer, but I guess they had to make do with the hardware limitations). Trying to get used to the controls though, the cars in particular feel a bit slippery (maybe I should use the d-pad instead of the circle pad?).
Make sure you play the random encounters as well. One of them even spoofs typical GTA behavior.

It's a miracle RDR2 had such an amazing campaign, I don't want to know what an Online obsessed Rockstar would do to VI...
im guessing rdr2 couldnt have as crazy an online because of the limits of the setting the game is in.
you can't jump around in flying cars, shooting people with missile launchers while wearing monkey masks in red dead 2.
or those water ATV's.

Female protagonists in GTA VI would be an interesting thing if they decided to copy the formula for what made GTA V successful.

Though, the only problem is that these protagonists would be just like this:

The ideal female protagonist for GTA would be a spoiled sweet mobster's daughter who's life goes tits up when her family is wiped out in a mob hit, which was carried out by the Mexican Cartel and goes onto a roaring rampage of revenge to avenge her father.

And if you do a three protagonist thing, you can toss in a white ex-marine turned mob henchman who serves as the mob boss's daughter's lover and voice of reason and an Asian hacker type otaku who joins up with the mob boss's daughter and her bodyguard after his family is offed by the same cartel types.

I was actually caught off guard by how much swearing is in the game. I' thought Nintendo wouldn't allow such a thing on the DS.
Story goes Chinatown Wars was Nintendo calling fans bluff by giving them a proper GTA game and seeing if it would sell. It did sell and all, but Nintendo then decided to not follow up on it.

Funny you say that, there IS a random encounter in V that described what you mentioned.

Fun fact: an actual mob daughter tried to sue R* for that random encounter.

I'm worried that they're going to put an even larger focus on the Online, to the point of diverting resources from the campaign.

Didn't Strauss say years ago that GTAVI would have a "shorter story" compared to previous games? If so, the damage is already done as we speak.

Aaaaaannnd, it's a shitshow.

Besides the game just being the PC version, those who transferred found out that their last gen characters were wiped. Also, if you switched consoles previously (PS3 to Xbone/360 to PS4) you can't transfer to next-gen, and finally, if you've split you're account by transferring from console to PC, that console account can't be transferred again.
PS4 and Xbox One accounts that were previously migrated to PC can now be transferred to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, but PC accounts cannot be migrated.

Hey guys, want to feel old?

VC portrays a culture that happened 20 years before its launch.

The 2000's culture from GTA 3 are now 20 years old

The same way we are nostalgic for the 2000's, the devs of VC felt the same for the 80's

....Fuck...

whatever57010 claims there isn't even real ray tracing in this lol

God damn people need to really give up on Rockstar

Edit: Even GTAForums seems to be pissed. Then again, I haven't visited in over 2 years so maybe they stopped putting Rockstars balls in their jaws all the time.

Dude

There was a 16 year time gap between the year Vice City took place and it's actual release date.

We're currently at a 14 year time gap between the year GTA IV took place and TODAY.

Apparently, it's ray traced shadows only, and even then only from sunlight & moonlight (small objects & grass don't benefit).

It seems to be a rock solid 60fps, but that could've been done with a free next gen patch, so...

Anyway, the drug dealing in Chinatown Wars is pretty cool, I wish GTA V had that instead of the convoluted stock market shit.

Was this REALLY worth a whole new port? All of these "enhancements" could've been a FREE UPDATE for existing owners.

Am I blind or does PC still look better than PS5?

Honestly, this should be getting more heat than the Definitive Edition got but kids and consoomers probably won't give a shit.

The only thing this has going for it is the cheap price, 60fps, and not being as busted as the "Definitive" Edition.

Such low effort compared to the Xbox One & PS4 version, and they even added new content to the campaign back then.

New graphics = incredible gameplay

This newfound “gamer logic” for Rockstar and GTA is the reason why I do not care if game developers are still peeved that they can not beat Elden Ring’s “hard” gameplay.
