Regardless of whether the F-35 is good or bad, Ukraine is not gonna get them because:

1. They're super fucking expensive.
2. Ukraine couldn't really leverage the advanced systems and capabilities of them.

A MiG-29 is fine for them.

Though if Ukraine actually pulls this off, they're probably gonna have to shift more towards western weapons systems. Like a lot of former WARPAC countries gradually are. I could see them maybe having F-16s one day (they're still in production). But, again, that's a "what-if" that assumes Putin doesn't just absorb the country.

Yes, because that's how nuclear strategy works in the 21st century and has worked since at least the early 80's.

The F-35 is a grift and a flying turkey for a reason.

Boeing is already modernizing the F-15 to make it last longer for the USAF though the A-10 needs to be modernized next.
