Too bad Biden already slammed the door on appointing Glenn Close.
Technically, in the world of the dimensional merger (trademark Chris Chan), Glenn Close would already be on the Supreme Court twice over (both as her West Wing character and as Patty Hewes from Damages; the later of which had her as a corrupt left wing activist private law who has left a trail of corpse in her wake, to the extent that other high end rival firms routinely warn new lawyers not to work for her due to the carnage she leaves in her wake and habit of corrupting everyone working under her, that at the end of the series, gets made Supreme Court Justice at the expense of her bastard son's death and having corrupted her heir apparent into murdering a guy in order to crush Patty's attempt to sue Wikileaks into oblivion.

Lol what the fuck
The Supreme Court scenario from West Wing will NEVER fucking happen in real life, since the whole plot point of that scenario on the TV show, is that President Bartlett (per freshly anointed showrunner John Wells) inherits TWO vacancies on the Supreme Court at the same time and decides to nominate a lunatic lefty and lunatic right winger (Glenn Close and William Fitchner respectively) to the openings to preserve the previous voting balance to the detriment of the Democrats, because he catches the two having a no holds barred argument during a white house visit arranged for both of them and it excites Bartlett so much that he decides he'll nominate them to the openings SOLELY because he gets off on the idea of them turning the Supreme Court into WWE with both of them openly hating on each other during Supreme Court hearings and using their rulings to shit on the other..... which Bartlett finds exciting in a "watching 'tards fight" sort of way.
What the hell and this was considered one of the best political drama shows of all time?

I have never personally said it but more than one person has drawn comparisons when I describe details.
By all accounts, this is super common to the point that even left wingers types like Chappo Trap House actively call it out, with Jon Favreau, Jon Lovett, Dan Pfeiffer, and Tommy Vietor (the Obama dick sucker boys who formed "Pod Save America" after Obama left office to cry about not being Presidential aides with access to all sorts of power and privilege anymore) in particular being called out as people who believe The West Wing was real life and based their careers as party hacks as one live action West Wing TV show larp where they are all Marty Stu saving America like on the TV show.

What the hell and this was considered one of the best political drama shows of all time?

Aaron Sorkin was riding high off the American President (which was basically a test pilot for "The West Wing"), the fact that the show was normie friendly compared to the overrated as fuck Sorkin penned "Sports Night" which barely got two seasons due to TV reviewers sucking Sorkins HARD, TV being really god-awful in 1999 as far as it being a turnover year when most 90s shows that dominated the early/middle part of the decade went off the air in the 1998-1999 season, the novelty of Martin Sheen and Rob Lowe doing TV (but mostly Martin Sheen doing TV), NBC ripping off HBO's "It's Not TV, It's HBO" marketing for the show by presenting West Wing as free broadcast TV's answer to the Sopranos in terms of high quality TV due to Sheen being the star and Sorkin being the show runner, and ultimately the fact that the show quickly de-evolved into hugbox/fanfiction for Democrats demoralized by George W Bush's election AND re-election and the fact that he was fucking untouchable after 9-11... which inspired an entire wave of Gen X/yearly Gen Y types to go into politics the same way "All the President's Men" inspired a tsunami of liberal boomers to become reporters so they might one day bring down a Republican president.

>When you're all out of ideas you steal a skit from a TV show
WTF IS THIS TIMELINE?!?!
The way things are going probably the last one.
Even NPR can't keep the facade going.
That actually reminds me of that one scene in GTA 5 where the (not)FBI guy leaves Trevor to torture some poor goatfucking bastard for info instead of doing the dirty work himself. Gotta wonder if this IPPAU unit had anything to do with "influencing" the creative directions behind that scene.
IIRC he was an armenian or something and you end up killing some rando iranian expat, the whole point of the mission is that the feds are fucking out of control and just looking for any targets to show they are "actually working".

If they are literally sitting around trying to steal ideas on how to save their administration from TV shows then they're worse off than I thought.
I'll also toss in that West Wing is hyper neo-liberal and DINO-esque (a running subplot is one of Bartlett's main goals of his administration is to slash medicare/medicaid/and "reform" social security in a way that would be a wet dream for conservatives. It's a major product of it's time in terms of being steeped in pre-Obama Clinton/Third Way politics, which makes the left's fascination with the show all the more insane, though the show's status as Bush II era hugbox fanfiction and Sorkin's elitist opinions on the public in general, probably helps overcome that dealbreaker with left wing narcissists who made up Obama's inner circle and footsoldiers in Washington, since it feeds their ego that they are the chosen ones and anyone who doesn't think 100% like them the rabble who need to shut the fuck up and be herded like ignorant cats by the elites.

CNN was never loyal to the Biden/Obama axis (they are and remain Clintonistas) and more to the point, they got SUCH a ratings boost with Trump AND finally beat MSNBC (who spent a decade shitting on CNN for being cockless eunuchs while reaping the rewards of being Obama's preferred outlet for propaganda) that a Trump restoration might actually be their best interest; especially if they do a full-purge of the anti-Trump elements and basically prostrate themselves before Trump/the GOP for forgiveness in exchange for being their mouthpiece.
If I was Trump I would much rather watch them die then to forgive them.

Form what I understand it was liberals go to fanfiction in a world where Bush wasn't elected and the president was democrat. One thing I consider funny is that show had Rob Lowe in it who would later go to become more right leaning.

But one thing I find creepy is that this show inspired a bunch of college kids into being narcissists.

You would think being old enough to have been there for the signing of the Bill of Rights he would remember things a bit better.
why does no one in the administration do research on anything? I can go buy a fully modern artillery piece like a M777 or similar and be completely legal. all i have to do is pay a 200 dollar tax to the ATF. The projectiles are unregulated if they are solid shot. Russian surplus howitzers used to be pretty cheap (cannon wise) after the fall of the soviet union. tanks too, they were selling complete t-55's for 10k.

If its a black powder cannon they are completely unregulated. you can mail order them with no additional paperwork.

Is it just me, or is Biden REALLY fucking triggered by anything related to the constitution or the amendments themselves?

This is like the 2nd or 3rd time he's used that "no constitutional amendment is absolute" line, and he always says it with disgust and contempt.

Please dont give these assholes any ideas about regulating black powder firearms and cannons. Especially when they find out how easily we can get black powder military arms, easier than buying cigarettes. By the way a civil war era long arm such as an Enfield for example was responsible for more deaths by the numbers than any scary AR rifle.

Noting says loving the country by openly being disgusted by the amendments.

Biden's always been an anti-gun wackjob.

He's from that era of Democrats who spent the 80s and early 90s trying to ban handguns.

Unfortunately I am not. So I am always open to hearing more.
So, the Democrats historically have two major flaws, the eponymous Twin Follies.

1: They tend to laser focus in on what they believe to be the solution to any given problem. The more severe the problem, the more they focus in on that solution and the less any other solution is even considered.

2: They delay solving issues that are not immediately problematic. Problems that are not of immediate concern are delayed "Because they are a problem for later". This often results in them ignoring major flaws that are not immediately an issue as a problem for another time.

The guy who played the gubmint hating lolbert in Parks in Recreation is a bleeding heart Democrat.

Its surprising when some actors are total opposites of what they are in real life.

the left really fucking hate the 2nd amendment and want it gone. However, they can't find a way to do it because of the implications and thermonuclear backlash if they ever outright try it. Hence gun control being akin to how the GOP deal with abortion: death of the amendment by a thousand papercuts.

similarly, actually amending the constitution is complicated and damn near impossible and the only time we ever repealed an amendment was with Prohibition and even then, that took about 12-13 years before it could be done and even then, only because it was a horrible idea pushed by progressives and feminazis of the day when most working men were off to war in WW1.
