It's not that easy even if you own your rig. I run under a lease agreement and my carrier probably wouldn't be happy if I showed up in my rig painted in their livery with all of their information on the door. If things go south it could spell big trouble for them and me.
You just know somebody is out there noting plates and DOT/MC# and unit numbers and shit with an eye to doing you dirty. They have big money and lots of influence too. With all of the new creative ways the FMCSA has invented to hassle drivers over the last decade plus things probably aren't going to work out for you long term.
It's why I don't post photos of my truck online at all anywhere and no other trucker should either.
Things gotta be way more squared away than they are now for me to dip my toes into that. The
OOIDA is prevented by anti-trust laws from getting involved in strikes. So I need to know who has got my back legally on this. I ain't gonna lose my house over it despite whatever sympathies for the cause I may have. A trucker version of the NLG or something.
