So, if this ends up successful, and knowing Justin it won't be, would we see similar convoys invade other capitals? Like one in DC, or one in some Europoor country or something?
The Netherlands are doing shit.
For those unfamiliar Crowsnest Pass is the main route for trucks crossing between Alberta and BC; there are only two other routes (Vermilion and Kicking Horse) and they aren't meant for heavy commercial traffic.
That's the Trans-Canada Highway. It ain't bad. No worse than Crowsnest anyways. Going from US Interstates to Canadian goat trails is always kind of a shock but they are no worse than running US 12 over Lolo. Y'all need Eisenhower.

:story: oh hell if truckers go ahead and blockade that pass the economic screws will really start twisting. For those unfamiliar Crowsnest Pass is the main route for trucks crossing between Alberta and BC; there are only two other routes (Vermilion and Kicking Horse) and they aren't meant for heavy commercial traffic. Blockade Crowsnest and it effectively shuts down non-rail transport between Vancouver and the rest of Canada.

Some peeps clearly have gotten the green light to go wild after the police retreat today.
Roger's Pass is the main route for trucks. The hill climb when passing Osoyoos when leaving the Okanogan towards the Western Kootenays melts truck brakes and only morons would try and take it in the winter.

The crowsnest isn't a superhighway, either. Single lane for most of it, I'm pretty sure. There's a hell of a set of switchbacks just outside of Osoyoos that could absolutely be jammed tight with very little effort.

I'm assuming it's the Osoyoos crossing they're blockading, but if not it wouldn't be hard to move some trouble in there. The tightest corner has to be driven at 20km/h in a passenger vehicle: I'd imagine you could jam an old logging truck in there pretty tight.
Judging from Twitter it seems they're at Crowsnest Lake. But give the situation a few more days to develop and we might see additional blockades in Osoyoos, or somewhere else along the route perhaps.

I'm listening in on their Zellos and Pat King and Tamara have been distancing themselves. The Alberta blockade aren't seeing any money either.
Bring back the pig ham guy, I laughed at his expense but I liked him. felt more sincere. All I really want is for you to Embrace the honking. we all just want to have a good time.

I kind of suspect you're going to see another blockade at 51.172693, -115.650551 eventually because that would basically cut off the west from the east unless someone was willing to go way the fuck up north to cross the Rockies.

If a blockade is going to happen on the TransCanada it will be between Kicking Horse and Field as that's the narrowest part with no shoulders.

Nawh this is further east, it's the Rockies crossing between Alberta and BC. Very nice road to drive on and it's the most southern pass so it sees a lot of traffic.

Vermilion and Kicking Horse can range from annoying to brutal at times in the winter (especially Kicking Horse around Field), but yeah they aren't absolutely terrible like Rogers Pass as @Rebel Wilson brings up (though the Creston-Salmo Pass arguably has it beat in winter). Real issue with them is they can add a lot of time onto trips given the highway configurations through the Columbia-Kootenays - something that's currently being experienced with the Coutts blockade.

Check those coordinates. It's a deep mountain creek bed crossing with no other roads over it outside of a rail track a bit to the south.

Not strictly convoy related but seen this in a local restaurant today and it warmed my heart and made me smile.

Something called Convoy-Finland is supposed to take place on Friday. I have zero expectations.

Yeah I know. I've driven it. In winter. In a truck. Clowns at HQ can't read a map and would always put multi-orders on me that I had to put in bond at Surrey and then deliver the first in Vancouver than move east into Alberta dropping the others as I go. I never drove Crowsnest unless I had to drop in Castlegar or Cranbrook someplace else weird down there. The Coquihalla up to Kamloops and then east was always the least shitty route.

I fuckin' atojiso.
That said, I've used them several times and never had any issues. Those negative reviews are likely Police/Parking Authority jobs, and while I can't condone truckers being dicks, those people fucked around and found out. Shouldn't have done whatever they did to result in the state towing them in the first place. City Wide doesn't have any of their own lots to just steal vehicles and park them. Those stories about people saying they had to go drive around and "point their vehicle out"? That was Calgary Parking Authority not knowing what lot they stored the vehicle on.

Really anything between Banff and Sicamous can be blocked off fairly easily. It just matters for the truckers what kind of conditions they are getting themselves into. Being ten minutes outside Banff or Trail as opposed to stranded in the pass is a world away and a thousand meters of elevation.

True, but if I were planning it I'd likely bring in a couple of RVs out there. One to act as an aid station in case anyone has problems, the other to be a mobile kitchen. It would also be hilarious to see cops having to watch people grilling out in the middle of the road while they're freezing their balls off.
You mean, its related to Niggers...
Yes
