I'm happy he finally took his head out of his ass, but I don't really think Gator deserves a full redemption arc either. It's far too little and too late.

I never had anything against @Flamenco though. I'm happy for him for his recent success.

It's really baffling how much of a battered housewife Gator is to Ralph. For years he's defended his rotund overlord for a pittance and now he's been cut loose his only response are these half-assed jabs in the hope that if Ralph doesn't take him back, he'll be able to leech onto another host. There is no 'redemption arc' for Gator, he's the exact same dumbass he's always been.

To summarize, Gator has turned on Ralph very much like Failure on Donga, but still has some retarded takes and seems to be wanting to not say certain things and is obviously trying to turn this into his big moment. The Metokur voice was off the charts this episode, insufferable as always.
Even though he has dunked on Ralph quite a bit, it's still the same retarded Gator who can't help but hate women any time they are mentioned, believes in demons that destroyed IBS and all the retarded shit he's always done. The future looks interesting though.

Problem: Jim actually tried to position himself as some kind of leader of Gamergate until everyone told him to fuck off and he got so butthurt that he publicly announced he was distancing himself from it, that there were people behind the scenes trying to position themselves as leaders, blah blah blah, and then he fucked off for a couple of months before reappearing as Mr. Metokur. So, yeah, he's tried to be a leader/guru once and got bodied by the weaponized autism he helped stir up and decided it was safer to just laugh at everything and everybody... because if you stand for nothing then no one can ever really hurt you. Good thing he's funny or it'd be sad.

In fairness to Gator, he's jus broken through the conditioning and shook off his Guntholme Syndrome. I wouldn't expect him to go all out straight away - but fuck if he accepts the truth of the corn harvest, an apology from Mr.Vickers and conceded the Nora email shows Ralph was flagging within a single stream then it's clear he's finally got control back of his rational faculties when thinking about Ralph.

I'm pretty sure he said during his quinspiracy video's already that he just wanted to put the information out there and that he was washing his hands off of it, but left it up to his viewers to decide if they gave enough of a shit to do something about it. In actual seriousness this is probably the most retarded take on Jims involvement in GG Ive ever read. Jim didnt want to be Cobra Commander of Gamergate, he just wanted people to keep stirring shit up and that was his only message. Once people tried to start doing IRL political shit he lost interest and if you had been watching you would have noticed Jim slowly getting more and more bored in the streams he took part in leading up to the great Jade blowjob stream. Worse yet, no one told him to fuck off at all I get that youve gotten your knowledge second hand and all but thats just not true at all everyone worshipped Jim to a degree he definitely didn't like.

I don't think it's that baffling. Gator has been interacting with Ralph and working for him for like a decade, and autists really don't like change. And considering that Ralph was paying him (even a pittance) and it becomes more complicated. Add on to that, the fact that the killstream probably made him feel important in some way, interacting with guests he looked up to, etc? I think it makes a lot of sense.

I think it's understandable. He probably wishes the show could go back to it's former success. But he's finally hit the point of understanding that's never gonna happen, and continuing to tie himself to Ralph's horse (metaphorically, not Meigh) is only going to make things worse for him, and it seems like he just wants to do his little weeb show and have fun and not constantly find himself being dragged into drama.

You could argue it's taken way too much, taken way too long to get to this point, but Gator spoke about "turning on Jim" like it was the instant downfall for someone in the IBS sector, and he clearly both likes and respects Jim (maybe even idolizes him). Everyone has their rock bottom I guess...
