Eh I would hesitate saying any provincial government has caved yet. While there's been noise to that effect (particularly Saskatchewan, Alberta, and BC), no tangible action has happened yet which is the only metric of success. Quebec's backtracking on the vax tax today probably counts, but it was always going to happen, Legault originally threw it out mostly to distract from his stagnating popularity.

Personally I'm watching Alberta and Saskatchewan because the moment they start actually loosening restrictions is when you know this protest is working.

Scott Moe seemed rather certain about it and openly expressed his support for the truckers, and even that fat sack of crap Doug Ford is starting to backpedal now. It's an election year for that fat fuck, so he'll be going back to his populist schtick soon enough.

While no official changes have happened just yet, quite a few premiers are singing a different tune now. They'll need to prep the NPCs as not to shock them too much with a sudden policy change, but it's all happening a lot quicker than usual.

I’ve known for a while how bad the media is at yelling muh racism at everything (especially immigration), but it is funny seeing other friends of mine notice the blatant hypocrisy from BLM coverage compared to this.

Thing is across a wide part of the Western World screaming "racist!" was a great way to stop any conversation on an issue. This was for a very long time as mass immigration began to flood places, jobs vanished overseas and what table scraps were left were hurled to the "new x" people that arrived who could tolerate shit standards of living.

Then the same people who shut people up this way found it works for other things too. Hence the "white priviledge" bullshit which doesn't fly in the experiences of most white people. Doesn't matter if you're black, hispanic, first nations or whatever, if you broadly have the same experiences of your fellow folks around you in the same shitty conditions and go "wait, this isn't right" then guess what? Multi-racial white priviledge.

They're trying to apply it to everyone because their own ideology ran out of road about 10 years ago and they have absolutely fuck all in the bag to evolve, it's why so many traditional parties, especially the third-way and left wing are busy just eating themselves over purity games.

As, I think Kimi Badenoch (A UK government minister) pointed out "How the hell does telling a bunch of white kids in deprived parts of the UK, who're now staring at the third generation of their families out of work they are privelegded because of their skin colour going to make sense?"

Simple fact is, might as well embrace it. Because once everyone bar them is racist they suddenly realise how vastly fucking outnumbered they really are.

It's discouraging when you see people taking years to cotton on. I try and frame it, in my mind as "well, at least they finally do see it", and also. When people reach these conclusions themselves, of their own volition and experiences, you know that change in seeing things is for keeps.

It's frustrating but at least there's no going back, and a person who comes to these realisations freely, is a true ally whose experiences and change in thinking have come about because of hard, long soul searching. You can't buy that, nor push a person into it.
 
I was tuning in to some of the livestreams last night and what struck me is how there is no trash anywhere. As in the place looks like Tokyo. And none of the windows or shop doors are boarded up. All completely polar opposite to when BLM and Antifa arrive, and that ass rammer Prime Minister says he's on their side.

This really boils down to the mask fully being removed from leftists that they serve out all these platitudes of #thankatrucker and #weareallunited but they truly feel like those who raise the animals, who tend and plow the fields, who truck the products in the supply chain are nothing more than lowly, unwashed serfs and they as sophisticated leftists stand head and shoulders above as aristocrats.

Just like will happen in the US, when the economy collapses and the supply chain breaks down, these champagne socialists in major cities will get a fuck ton of a wakeup call who they are dependent on and those in the outskirts who have been treated like dirt won't ever forget who looked down on them.

Some things from the radicals have been taken on board though. Anti-consumerism was one of the bigger things, and now we see the elite intentionally screwing up the economy in order to reduce the amount of fuel and manufactured goods that the plebs use, so that it can be "sustainable". Think about the stuff modern consoomers get, it's all digital media like movies or tiny toys/shelf ornaments like funko pops, that's far less materially intensive than a boater, a car collector or tourist for example. Maybe it's the 1984 thing where they can feel smug about retaining luxuries that they've forced out of the plebs' reach but the enviro shit is so core to their messaging that even if it was all a cynical power grab they have to maintain the ideology to keep it.

Road hockey with friends is our national pastime and no one can call themselves a true Canuck until they've performed the sacred ritual. Naturally Ottawa bugmen haven't done so which is why they hate the honking so much: it reminds them they aren't proper Canadians.
