I didn't go so far as to think she'd actually lie about having cancer (probably because it didn't really occur to me) but when she started wearing those chemo caps I thought she knows good and damned well she looks like a chemo patient, and that's just fine with her. If you'll excuse a brief PL, as a former cancer patient I know all too well how people treat you when they know. The guy in front of her at Starbucks notices the chemo cap? He'll buy her drink. Long line at the grocery store? "Hey, why don't you go in front of me". Everyone being extra nice. Getting smiled at all the time. Chantal will possibly get all the sympathetic attention she wants and she'll just eat that up with a spoon and let them assume all they want. If she actually lies about having cancer she'd better hope she doesn't run into anyone who knows there's more to being a cancer patient than just losing one's hair.
