I think Janeway's fiance got off easy. She would have just stolen his work and gone on Oprah.

Every actor in the show is wasted, tbh. The script and characters are terrible, who knows what they could have been able to do with a proper show.
Genuine question but is Sonequa Martin-Green even a good actress? I can't recall seeing her in anything else and her performance is so terrible I struggle to put it all down to writing/directing.

She seems like a Tessa Thomson where she's okay as a supporting actress or lower, but doesn't have the charisma of a lead.

She wasn't bad in Walking Dead I seem to remember liking her character fine enough. She did well as Chad Coleman's sister in the series. I was slightly surprised when her character was abruptly killed off in WD and she left for Discovery. I agree she's horrible as a lead should've stuck to supporting characters.

It’s funny you say that. Both of them have some of the most punchable faces around. I don’t know what it is, but both of their faces scream ‘massive cunt’.

I’ve never met them. I don’t know if they are actually cunts, but they sure do look like it

She was awful in The Walking Dead and Once Upon a Time too, just cannot act for shit. Only time her performance is believable is when she's being a raging bitch, if she tries to portray any other emotion it comes across as horribly fake.

Their both sjw women if I'm not mistaken. So they probably are massive cunts.

She was retconned in 1x02 as being a kind of a girlboss, with the one-liners and all. I agree with the consensus among some fans that she should have stayed the same after "Vulcan Hello."

I don't think any actor could make this material compelling. I read a comment recently which said,
The fact that this show managed to make me hate Tig Notaro is proof that this show's writing is garbage.

I guess my analysis is even if properly casted these Discovery characters just don’t have enough to them. We have a dude who can literally send the ship ANYWHERE IN THE GALAXY THIS IS GAME CHANGING TECHNOLOGY and they never do shit with it but macguffin. Then we have battlesuit time travel edition and yeah okay now we’re in the future and quirky redhead bestie us fatter and not at all pulling off a commanding performance. It’s just a show of things that are thrown at the wall and rarely stick but even when they do it’s in such a half assed way who really cares. I mean Pike. Fucking Pike was ten times the character any of these guys were and we already knew his whole bag. Even discount Spock worked better. Because those are well established characters and Discovery’s just isn’t.

As for Soniqua my banner moment for her probably came in Rick’s last episode on TWD. He’s dying of a gut wound hallucinating trying to find his family and she shows up with some retarded speech about things ‘working out towards the good, towards the brave, towards love’. Meanwhile she’s giving this speech in a sea of dead characters from the show to a man who had his wife eaten whole sale and son killed shortly before. It‘s so cuntsmackingly tone deaf and she tried to make it mean something but she is just not talented enough for even competent screenwriting. So turning her lose as some badass pseudo Vulcan that can body Klingons and falls in love with a Klingon that got tranny surgery to look human is just throwing your money away.

yeah the more I think about discovery the more I hate it. Still like Lorca though even though he was in the OA with the trill trannie

God now that I think of it tranny shit happens throughout this series. You have the engineer that becomes part tardigrade, the fishman who finds out his race was being culled by their planetary former prey, the trannie kid, black mamba jesus, the trannie kid’s trill ghost boytoy, the doctor that was killed by Klingon spy muslim then brought back through MAGIC. I mean SHIT even Q only fucked with Picard once a season and they never found magic space macguffins this much, was Geordi just a lazy nigger?

Okay so basically Star Trek fleet command. It’s your basic mobile game you own a station that station is where your resources are you join groups because your station and ships can be pvp’ed and yes people who pay get advantage like ships ten times stronger than yours. You have to do missions, mine, and research to upgrade and to get better ships and officers you put from random chests you either earn or pay for. Bog standard ‘pay to win crap’. I played it for about two months before the grind was too much for me sorry I don’t care enough about my epic Kirk card if I only pay $9.99 and it didnot seem all that popular

If I could do a Star Trek show right now I tell ya what I'd do. Throw out fucking everything that happened prior to the 2009 reboot. I'm not acknowledging the faggass Kelvin timeline, I'm not acknowledging Lower Decks, or Discovery, or Picard. All of that can fuck off.

I'll spoler it because it's long.
Set 20 years after the events of TNG/DS9/VOY, things are going okay but not the best they could be. The Dominion War was a wake up to the Federation. History has shown, from the Klingons and the Romulans, to the Dominion and the Borg, that sometimes diplomacy will not be enough, and force will need to be applied. Thus the formation of a new branch of Starfleet, one dedicated almost solely to war fighting. Starfleet Tactical.
It's considered a necessary evil, but one that must exist. Much like Section 31, which is indeed still active though whether or not I would ever actually use them in a show again would be in the air. Maybe if one of my writers thought of something really good, but it's doubtful.

The Romulans, though. I could potentially just rip off that garbage Kelvin timeline and say that [epic space disaster] happened and their sun started going supernova. Spock, who was visiting at the time in an ambassadorial capacity, sacrificed himself and his ship to stabilize their sun by [space technobabble here], though he only pushed back the inevitable from days to decades. (This is why he's not in the show, plus maybe I'll show edited scenes from the 2009 reboot for that exposition flashback) But given this time, the Romulans and Federation managed to stage a successful evacuation. As a plus, the Remans were given their freedom and evacuated to a new planet suitable to them because fuck them I don't want them in my show.

The Klingons remain allies of the Federation, though our relationship is rocky at times. Martok still leads the Empire, though he does grow old and there is growing talk of succession. Worf is still official Klingon\Federation ambassador.

The Ferengi reforms are going fairly well, but Ferengi society is actually not much different. The females turn out to be almost exactly like the males; lecherous, greedy, swindling bastards. And there's always a fairly large amount of Ferengi Traditionalists who cling to the old ways out of choice.
I would maybe bring back Quark and Rom for cameos, but if I had to say anything about Nog it would be that he's stationed on a starship in the Gamme or Delta quadrant and that's why we never see him now.

In a surprising twist, Cardassia is now a member of the Federation. After their devastating losses in the dominion war, at the hands of their own supposed allies no less, the Cardassians underwent a period of rebuilding and internal reforms. They'd seen what their militant ways had earned them and were resolved to change. 3 years after the war they paid Bajor war reparations partly in returning any artifacts and orbs they still possessed, and partly in vital materials and equipment though this would strain their own economy greatly as they were still in the act of rebuilding. This gesture garnered them a lot of goodwill with the Federation, who helped to alleviate as much of the strain on the Cardassian economy as possible. The eventual buildup of trust between Cardassia and the Federation, as well as Bajor's affirmative vote on the matter, would ensure their application would be accepted just 10 years after the Dominion war.

The Founders are also undergoing their own internal reforms, though occasionally a changeling will emerge from the link and choose to interact with the solids or when undertaking necessary official duties, bringing memory of their experiences back to the link as they begin to reexamine their previously held worldview.

The Jem'Hadar and Votra have both undergone more genetic tinkering at the hands of the Federation under guidance from the Founders to repair much of the damage the original tinkering has done. However, in the immediate aftermath of the Dominion war, the Jem'Hadar would fragment as a portion of them took their "Victory is Life!" shit really seriously. The Jem'Hadar do not lose. They were not designed to lose. And so we now have 2 factions of Jem'Hadar, each now being a distinctly different species as the Rebel Jem'Hadar who have defied the Founders orders to stand down are still of the same strain present during the Dominion War. For 20 years they've waged a bloody guerilla conflict against their former brethren, as well as Starfleet Tactical.

Part of the reason I would call the show New Frontiers is because as our little galaxy is being more and more explored in the Delta and Gamma Quadrants, our world is shrinking. Until someone finds some technology capable of traveling between galaxies. That could well be a major source of new shit to explore, as well as being able to explore other shit in the Delta Quadrant, Gamma Quadrant, and overall show how the galaxy is changing, as well as explore new shit in other galaxies for even more crazy scifi shit.

O'Brien would never let the Cardies join the Federation. And you can't even really blame him for that.

I would actually make a similar show where O'Brien was elected president of the Federation (I'd vote for him. Don't tell me you wouldn't also.), and he initially stopped the Cardies from joining the Federation... At first at least. You still have to have a satisfying story, and maybe that story is O'Brien learning not to hate the Cardies anymore, despite his sordid past with them. I'd watch that.

But that would mean First Lady Keiko.
Keiko was never the first lady. She dies before the series even starts. And let's say, Miles re-married... Ezri (It didn't work out between Ezri and Julian. And of course Miles swoops in for the sloppy seconds of the only guy who he'd ever go gay for...)

Ezri? Kind of an odd choice given that Miles almost started mancucking Keiko with Kira. Not to mention that open invitation to get some Cardassian strange.
Now THAT would be ironic as hell, Miles ends up getting remarried to the Cardassian chick that wanted his corned beef because he kept arguing with her.
