The point of groups like antifa is to shutdown dissenting voices for the establishment. Antifa believes they're harassing Nazis labeling them Nazis and convincing enough angry ottowan Karen types to join isn't that hard. If antifa is too violent and you do nothing you can say current law prevents us from X. If you have antifa lose you can use it as an excuse to crackdown on the truckers for fighting back.

I'm sure the government doesn't have enough people to really rally a counter protest in the dead of winter.

Have you looked at what "the people" of Ottawa have said on Twitter and Reddit? They are oscillating between shock and condescension. It's the exact same problem here in America. Urbanites close to the flag pole implementing and supporting bullshit that causes real harm to people outside their bubbles.

But that's okay to them, because those people are just rando outsiders, and probably also Nazis. What makes this so impactful is seeing how this narrative clashes with harsh reality when all those "Nazis" stop being some sort distant mythology and manifest in their safe comfy reality as living breathing people with lives and dreams.

There has been a very concerted effort for the past few years to dehumanize huge swaths of people in all western countries and now we see the result. The NPCs literally cannot believe its real. That these people actually exist and have agency.

The greatest irony is that it was fucking Canada that was the first western nation to finally break hard. True north, wild and free indeed. The meme was actually true.

There handlers are government employees. At least one will be willing to make the sacrifice for the cause. Besides, the horse then gets a heroes funeral, the handler gets to go on a media tour whining about huwite supremes, probably becomes Sergeant of the unit, and gets a new pony to ride courtesy of tax payers.

The government views humans as their property. They aren't above fragging a pet for optics.

I suppose that’s true. The horse people I know love them more than I think is reasonable, and something like this would be a tough sell. But I also thought cops would actually protect citizens when ordered to do unconstitutional shit so who’s the naive one?

2. Here's a Bluecheck arguing that his normie friends hate the "defacement" of the Terry Fox statue. Biased source, by one that I think is true. Of course, it is totally hypocritical, since nothing the protesters did was anything like what, say the "approved" BLM and related protests did, but whatever. Expect a tearful message from the Terry Fox Foundation about how Terry Fox was always for public health and health innovation, how the only way to end the pandemic is for EVERYBODY to get vaccinated, and only white nationalists would spread pro-Covid and anti-vaccination misinformation. They might even include some misinformation of their own by stating the vaccines can stop infection or transmission.

tr;dr: all this has probably done is made the Bluecheck class mad and more willing to seek revenge on the "protesters" as they call them.

Probably there's going to be another late winter/early spring wave like last year that will be blamed on the protests.

They aren't just random protestors, they are truck drivers. Even if we use the lowest possible number that GloboHomo ™️ media is claiming, there are 250 trucks at this protest. And that is just the number of actual semitruck vehicles, not the number of drivers which could be in the thousands. If suddenly a thousand truck drivers are out of the work force, do you know what type of impact that creates? With existing pressure on supply chains this has the potential to collapse th economy. The government has very few options on how to deal with this. They have leverage on the entire Leafistan economy.

That could also anger the crowd at this point. You have a large crowd A protesting in the middle of winter, secondly there are alternative ways to raise money.
Lastly while this is a nuclear option in a country like Canada it can very easily backfire.
