Once a child has developed a strong sense of identity, they're kind of locked out from severe fetishism. Especially in a boy, after normal puberty starts, the brain doesn't just overwrite the standard "must stick penis in fertile vagina to make more healthy humans" drive that has kept the species going for 350,000 years. Mis-imprinting takes place early, like 2-10. In the wrong environment, a child can develop a desire for things have nothing to do with PIV. In minor cases it's fairly innocuous, like feet, softcore BDSM, fat chicks, etc, and it's non-exclusive fetishism, meaning there's a normal sex drive too. In worse cases, it's exclusive fetishism, meaning they only get turned on by things like furries, feederism, diapers, panties/sissy/AGP, children (this is why pedos were often abused as kids), disabled pretending/devotee, cuckolding, hardcore BDSM, excrement play, etc. Autists and kids with ADHD develop a bit slower, and the window for this to take hold lasts from 2-13 instead of 2-10.
Porn causes its own problems that are beyond the scope of what I'm discussing, though it's one of the last chances for these thoughts to become ingrained.
With girls/women it's a bit more malleable. Girls are less likely to develop exclusive fetishes (hence the gender imbalance seen in perverted communities like diapers, fur, zoo, and scat, where the male-female ratio can exceed 80:20). But they're more likely to pick up relatively minor fetishes. Stuff like spanking, DDLG, softcore BDSM, rope, black guys, older guys, etc. The fetishes tend to be milder, but the window to develop them lasts decades instead of a few years. And these are generalizations- women still get into weird stuff like rape fantasies, choking, piss, and and animals. This tendency is probably involved with the rapid onset gender dysphoria observed in FTM troons.
This is highly speculative but one theory for the "resilience" of girls to perversion was that girls got to spend much more time with a female role model (their mother) and FTMs are on the rise because nowadays both parents are working full time.
Women often get into milder versions of stuff guys get into. Like male paraphiliacs have diapers/infantilism, while females have DDLG. Males have furries, females have kitten play. White men have elaborate BBC worship/cuck fantasies. White women just date black guys to piss off their parents. Men pay dominatrixes to act out complicated power dynamics. Women just get a whip and fuzzy handcuffs from Adam&Eve and have their boyfriends tie them up and whip them lightly.
