Day of the Rake? More like Day of the HONK!

Valiant chud truckers ring in the 2022 Clown Year of our Lord with a chorus of HONKING! How fitting.

Proto-Canada (because this was shortly before confederation and dominion status etc.) was actually pretty involved in the US Civil War, at least for a party not officially in the war, and proto-Canada sided with the Confederacy. I think the main reason was basically just that the British Empire wanted the USA to split in two, as a divide and conquer tactic. In terms of proto-Canadian involvement, it was both on land and at sea. Some CSA ships were allowed to conduct raids out of Eastern Canadian ports, using them to restock and avoid Union vessels, and there were also land raids launched out of Central Canada. See:

This is very much a little known fact even within Canada, because the Canadian neolib elite find it deeply embarrassing. Proto-Canada's allegiance to the CSA seems to have gone beyond mere geopolitical jockeying, however. Canada's most important founding father, Sir John A. MacDonald (whose statues have been getting torn down due to cultural revolution, as of late), is said to have so named Canada's confederation as an homage to the CSA, out of his deep admiration for the Confederacy. Additionally, I have heard it said that he partly modelled Canada's division of powers on the CSA's system. Canada indeed has more of what Americans would call a "states' rights" ethos than the United States.
Have to disagree with everything here. Remember that British North America were neighbors of the North and share many of the attitudes of that region, including towards slavery. Tens of thousands of Canadian enlisted in the Union army compared to only hundreds for the Confederacy.

Also, I don't think the use "Confederation" was inspired by the Confederacy of the South. In any case, the name "Confederation" is only used for the process (cf. Australian unification is called "Federation") and the historical period; the state was styled as a "Dominion" (the Founders wanted to "Kingdom", but they were afraid of arousing republican passions in the USA).

Sir John A. MacDonald did not in any way model the Canadian Constitution on the Confederate Constitution. He was famous for arguing for a very strong central government. He took the US Civil War as an example of the dangers of strong local powers. On paper, the Canadian Constitution is more centralized than the US Constitution. The British North America Act, 1867 granted the reserved powers to the Federal government. It has provisions for the Federal government to disallow provincial legislation. Canada has only become more decentralized because developments after Confederation. For the first ~70 years after Confederation, the final court of appeals was the British Judicial Committee of the Privy Council which rules fairly consistently for the provinces. More importantly, Quebec has consistently argued for keeping as much powers for itself (even under federalist governments), which has meant that all the provinces kept those powers.
The British elite were butthurt over their former colony succeeding, they felt a kinship to the planter aristocracy of the South, but most of all they feared the rise of the USA as a rival that would soon surpass the UK in wealth and power despite being made up of low class scum always braying about freedumb. They saw the war as a chance for the USA to be knocked down a peg and become a less serious future threat to British commercial and military hegemony. But Albert and to a lesser degree Victoria liked the north, both hated slavery, and both wanted the UK to be strictly neutral. Without that Palmerston probably would have lended the South the Royal Navy to fuck over the North.
It's been a while since I've read The Battle Cry of Freedom, but British support in the US Civil War was general split along class lines, with upper classes more sympathetic towards the South and the Lower classes supporting the North.

By this time, the British monarchy was more symbolic than anything else, so I think Victoria's support wasn't the decisive factor. More important was the large trade between the North and the UK (Southern cotton was substituted with newly developed Indian and Egyptian sources) and the North's military-industrial capacities were such that they could seriously threaten British rule over Canada.

So what is the accomplishment of coming in and refusing to leave until there's drops or mass resignations? Make it so you're in a March and April 2020 time warp?
At least truckers would get time off this time. They deserve some relaxed home time.

Running the road during early 2020 was some of the weirdest stupidest shit I have ever been a part of. Every place was closed, nobody answered their phones or email, no PPE or hand sanitizer or any of that other shit they wanted you to have could be found at any price, you were just bashing your head into the wall trying to get anything done. Oh, and you were perpetually thirsty because you couldn't find water. The stores were out and all the sinks in public areas were turned off. If you got sick you were supposed to sit on the side of the road for two weeks and eat dirt because you couldn't buy diesel to get home and there were very few places open where you could order groceries delivered to you. You were on an island completely alone.

It was super-fun being an ~essential worker~ during all that. People wonder why truckers are all "fuck mandates" it's because we all had to break the rules to get anything done because the rules were unworkable from the get-go. Nobody followed them because there was no way to follow it. You had two-three different bosses/regulators/shippers/etc telling you to do completely different things that all ran at cross-purposes and they gave you absolutely zero support or help. Scratch that, negative help as they pulled resources away so their treasured permit officials and accounts managers or whatever other soft-hands office pussy could fuck off to their Charmin castle. It was a huge mess but you went and did it anyways because job needed to be done.

Now, when the danger is over, these fuckers want to ratchet shit up again because they painted themselves into a corner politically? Get fucked. I don't blame these truckers one bit for showing up to the Ottawa ivory tower to irl shitpost for a few months. Have fun. It's about time someone burst their bubble and they realized that all of this mandate shit has a real tangible negative effect on the people who actually get things done in society.

I have no idea who Terry Fox is but he'd probably be against the rampant faggotry that is modern Canada.
He sure would
Ok let's be rea this is bullshit obviously BUTl: what bone would Russia have to pick with Canada? Is there even some vague connection I should know about, other than them being our neighbors?
it racism from the anti racists or as I call them thinly veiled white nationalism

I mean I worked in a warehouse and I knew from the get go something was wrong. I knew as soon as the first lockdown occurred that if we didn't fight back it would be a new normal.

Terry Fox was that guy who ran a full marathon every day for cancer awareness, while dying of cancer himself. IIRC it made him lose an entire leg. It didn't stop him at all.

That alone makes him more worthy of praise and respect than 99% of every journalist, fake-ass activist and Redditor ever. Not sure of his politics, and I'm sure they don't matter.

With that said, Justin Trudeau is everything I hate in a man: A closeted faggot, a communist, a hypocrite and a spineless coward. Fuck him, and fuck all of his cocksuckers.

If you want to help these guys support them and their cause. Don't add your own distracting shit to it. They aren't uniting by doing this.
That's where the US falters with movements. Nobody's unified, tactical or ballsy enough to protest against outright government interference. Canadian truckers are protesting against Trudeau's vaccine mandates and comments. He doesn't know what to do.
