It's a nice sentiment but it won't work. Just about every major city has courier services in non-CDL trucks that basically make money by hauling partial shipments into the city from staging areas at warehouses and distribution centers in the suburbs. They are the ones that know how to navigate the parking, permitting, and routing hell that are intentionally complicated so as to force you to use them.

You can't really blockade the urban core of shitheads without also screwing over everyone else in the entire region.

This is why when urbanites prattle on about how "energy efficient" living in a built up metro area is I just laugh. There is so much waste in transferring and handling getting the goods to them it's ridiculous. There is no economy of scale because everything goes the last 20-50 miles on half-full 26' straight trucks or even just windowless candy vans. It comes in 20 ton lots off the semis and gets delivered out a couple hundred pounds at a time.

It also just wouldn't have that much impact in terms of protesting the Canadian government. Much of our government is still doing work-from-home from their home ridings; many of them aren't in Ottawa at all. Many of the buildings in the capital have either been empty this whole time, or running at fraction of regular capacity. If no one's there, then the "bear hug" thing doesn't have much impact, except maybe on poorfags from Ottawa who actually still live and work there.

It remains to be seen how much of a real impact this will have on policy, but in terms of optics (lol) this has been an immense success for the truckers so far. "Fringe minority" lmao. They've also done an excellent job at pissing off redditors and people on Twitter and so far I believe it has all been well worth it.
