I know that about the US. PL: im a native New Yorker to my great shame and I know why a lot in the NE fly it. It just baffles me that Canadians do too.
I agree that it's dumb and probably glows, but given the official stance of pre-confederation Canada on the Confederacy, it makes more sense for Canadians to wave that flag than it does for Yankees.

Canada is now Trump Nation and has information that will lead to the arrest of Hilary Clinton.

KILL THE FASCIST TRUCKERS MY CAT IS HIDING UNDER THE COUCH!

Canada has geese and blue jays: the two biggest avian assholes.

Geese will block a road and not give a fuck, even if you honk at them. And blue jays are fucking bullies.

How 'bout Red Wing Blackbirds? We got bolth Canada Geese and Bluejays. But the geese are fine if you give them a wide berth and respect when they start hissing. Red Wing Black Birds though... they'll divebomb your head and they hurt!

The CBC think then Putin is behind the Convoy.

Update (1500ET): While in a normal world this would be beyond satire and ridicule, it is perhaps of no surprise whatsoever that the blame for instigation of the "Freedom Convoy" is already being placed on so-called 'Russian actors'...

"...given Canada's support of Ukraine... I don't know it it's far-fetched to ask but there is concern that Russian actors could be continuing to fuel things as this protest grows... perhaps even instigating it..."

As Brian Lilley writes at The Toronto Sun, "the media in this country is not acting as a neutral observer and conduit for news on this matter, most have decided the trucker convoy is the enemy and are treating it as such. Watch any of the news networks or, more importantly, read the Twitter accounts of supposedly objective journalists, or listen to the contempt in their voices as they ask questions to see that they have clearly taken sides."

"Apparently, the journalists on Parliament Hill these days think their job is to hold the opposition and not the government to account. It also appears their job to support some protest movements and attack others based on the personal preferences of the journalists."
In other news, while Trudeau hides in isolation, the Premier of Saskatchewan, a Canadian province that borders the US, calls for an end of the cross-border ban on unvaccinated truckers.

The success or failure of these actions are just like a general workers strike: the only way to lose is if you give up. If TPTB are forced to choose between negotiating with the demands or violently breaking the strike, it's a win.

So long as they don't leave of their own accord, the government will have to choose between actually addressing the concerns, or violently breaking the protest. And so long as no one leaves of their own accord, that will require arresting at least 10s of thousands of people, and towing 1000s of vehicles.

They will desperately try to spin it and pin it on the protestors, but every single one of those people who cheered them on will see the government using violence to enforce their authoritarian agendas and will create martyrs for the cause.

The neutrals will see the government willing to use force to suppress actual protest and demonstration, which will consciously or subconsciously prime them.

And those on the left will be shown that they've pushed the other side far enough that they've reached the end of their chain and have nothing left to lose, and that the other side will not go away quietly like before. This will frighten them, and likely tilt them enough to start making greater and more severe mistakes, oversteps, and overreaches in their efforts to prevent it from happening again. And in doing so, they'll be empowering the other side and driving more and more people towards it.

The left gets away with what it does by boiling the frog slowly enough for the average prole not to notice. By tilting them, they'll crank the heat up rapidly in their reactionary measures. This will lead to their undoing as it will garner more against them.

Sending in the Pinkertons to break the striking miners may let you win the battle, but will result in you losing the war.

The British elite were butthurt over their former colony succeeding, they felt a kinship to the planter aristocracy of the South, but most of all they feared the rise of the USA as a rival that would soon surpass the UK in wealth and power despite being made up of low class scum always braying about freedumb. They saw the war as a chance for the USA to be knocked down a peg and become a less serious future threat to British commercial and military hegemony. But Albert and to a lesser degree Victoria liked the north, both hated slavery, and both wanted the UK to be strictly neutral. Without that Palmerston probably would have lended the South the Royal Navy to fuck over the North.
They also liked the cotton supply.

It's funny you mention the Brits fearing the US surpassing them, because that is precisely why the US got the Louisiana Purchase for such a steal. Napoleon wanted a long-term way to fuck over Britain.

Ok, I can buy that. I meant more for political purposes. What was Canada even doing during the 1860s?
The confederate flag has more or less become a symbol of rebellion for a lot of people, which is why so many in the south still use it. Whether actually racist or not, we still hate yanks, so we fly the flag. I could see where Canucks or other foreigners would find it endearing and get one.

Well, it seems to have worked. The British Empire is shattered, and meanwhile France seems to be up to the same old shit with all their neocolonial meddling in Africa. They never really decolonized, they've just got more plausible deniability.

They passed $8m. It's Canadian dollars, I guess but really impressive. It was around six million a couple of days ago. Anyway, I'm proud to say:

I'll start saying 'This is pointless!' 'How could this acomplish anything?' 'LOL there isn't even anyone in that building right now what are they going to do? What idiots', 'ooooh this noise is so loud it is upsetting my cat :'(' next time there is a BLM style protest and see how far I can last on the Ottawa subreddit without getting banned.

What happened to riots being the voice of the unheard? These aren't even riots, just loud traffic jams lol. Yet somehow they are a million times worse than the 'smokey but mostly peaceful' protests of 2020.

Not all of the truckers are in Ottawa. Aside from the fact they're still coming in over there, the RCMP has issued a travel advisory for the border crossing at Coutts, Alberta due to the number of American truckers coming in.

Just caught these counterprotesters on livestream, couple of real winners. Fucking retard had to add an extension to his sign LOL
