The call-signs of QAnon have popped up occasionally, and others have talked openly about their expectation that the government be toppled when they arrive. One meme, which has been shared widely, shows a truck gaining ground on the prime minister, calling their operation a “roadkill rally.”

Edit: Looks like the someone blocked off lanes and they are just gonna camp out downtown for the night in their sleepers. An impressive amount of help from the city government there. I bet the folks living in those expensive downtown condos are seething over this and it won't last long.

All this I’m reading reminds me of 1/6 for one reason: the fervor and cheering and the “URA!” from /pol/ and the Thunderdome before the hammer came down after the intended goals didn’t happen. I’m not sure this is going to end well.

For a PL, having grown up so interwoven into this industry, it's extremely surreal to watch this play out now. My personal connection to the industry was deeply failed by the government over a decade ago and caused them to live in certain poverty until they passed. I had grown up listening to rant upon rant about the government - whether I had the capacity to understand it or not. If they were still here, this would honestly be their dream come true.

But I've always been much more of a realist than them so I find it hard to fully comprehend what's happening and it looks like Occupy Wallstreet and not Jan 6. And I don't think I want either of those events to occur here but there's no way they're going to resort to physical violence or property destruction beyond happenstance, accidental or pollution/littering. They can get other jobs, this is not life or death starvation. It's almost like you can tell these guys aren't part of a unionized trucking association because there's no... unionization. Some think they're going to over throw the government. Some think Trudeau will resign. Some think some thing about vaccines and mandates.

Like Occupy, it could be the beginning of _an_ uprising of the working class to begin to peel back the Canadian shield that is the media and the government and possibly begin to make real change.

But I read an article today that said the average Asian and east Indian makes more than anyone else in Canada. White Canadians held strong in the middle class. And Canada had made itself sort of a safe haven for rich immigrants and then provided massive hand outs to refugees that natural born citizens had to work for. So it's probably not surprising Jagmeet won't support an uprising of a working class.

Canada actually works fine for the wealthy. I've seen it first hand. You can pretty much pay to get out of any crime and even commit murder and still be out within a decade. If you have money, Canada is still a dream. It still maintains low crime rates and all the incentives for a rich foreigner from Punjab to immigrate for. You pass your wealth down to your kids with like little to no inheritance tax, sell the house you bought in the 80s for 100k for a million now and you'll never even understand there are others a block away struggling to make ends meet.

I wish this was like Mad Max and the convoy was freedom warriors or something but it's a bunch of probably mostly dudes who spend 90% of their time alone listening to the radio or podcasts or some other form of media on the road and their poor wives and whatever kids they've dragged across the country in an SUV breathing diesel fumes for 2500km (well, it's winter so I guess they've had the windows up) who will repeat talking points from mostly American media due to the fact "alt right" media doesn't exist here beyond someone like Jordan Peterson.

As soon as the news starts talking to these guys it's going to be the troon and antiwork all over again. Fucking Merle with a Randy cheeseburger gut and a nicotine stained beard looking like Ronnie Hawkins, "well, ya see I was travelin' up past Torrana and heard on the ol' CB there they were heading up to Ottawa to get that Trudeau out of office.." and it pans over to the giant Confederate flag across the grill of his truck idling black smoke because its an ancient truck that doesn't require modern safety inspection regulations. Fucking two east coaster 20 somethings with shaggy hair in trucker hats and aviators "covert" drinking and waving at the camera for grandma back home.

If it's not something similar to that, I'll eat my dead relatives trucker hat.
