Well it seems the walking back is starting. Ottawa police are now saying they have no idea how many people are going to turn up (yesterday they were positive it was only a few hundred), but that it will be "massive"; not unreasonable to say this protest will officially be numbering in the thousands I think.

I don't follow Malice at all, but I have picked up on the general issue of "The Powers That Be" (Call it the Cathedral, the Administrative Complex, the Oligarchy, what have you) - the modern social-political edifice that primarily seems to serve the interests and desires of the professional managerial class in a few select sectors of commerce. And that it will use the language and images of our greater shared political culture to try to prop up its rules and diktats, most commonly referring to opposition as threats to "Our Democracy."

Basically Canada has essentially rigged one of it's 3 left wing parties into power so that united conservative parties aren't a thing in slowing down "progress".

"Cathedral" in that sense is Eric S. Raymond's vocabulary, so strongly appropriated from him by Curtis Yarvin (Moldbug) that Raymond doesn't even take credit for it anymore, and then Malice picked it up from the 'bug and got normal people using it.

The capital city vs. the great line of trucks is very "The Cathedral and the Bazaar."

Calling it now. If this freedom convoy thing becomes a thing, around the world, i reckon the planet warming talking heads will protest because of pollution from vehicles. They must have quite alot of thier own hot air saved up, by now, because they have done and said fuck all for 2 years while the sea and land have become a dump, for covid shit. Waiting for the Great Fas One to get on her low horse about it but it will be down to her handlers.

He is correct in the weaselly modern day Snopes kind of way , every protest group ever is a "small minority of very angry people" and it's not just the vax that is pissing people off. I'm surprised it isn't over the fact that you need a full PCR test to get back into Canada even if you've only been out of the country for 2 hours. That's got to be hell for truckers.
