The vast majority of trans murders occur to housing insecure individuals, or sex workers. It's hard to find good studies on the rate of sex worker deaths relating to their size in the population, but if you look at the murders themselves, well, there's a pretty clear pattern:

We found that women accounted for the clear majority of victims (105), with only two male and three trans victims. Overall, the vast majority of victims (85) were also street-based sex workers.

So, were they killed for being trans, or were they killed for being women? Trans women who finance their transition through sex work used to be primarily HSTS types, so they are very often feminine gay men who pick up male clients. Some of the deaths are definitely gay panic, but some might just be because they passed well enough and got murdered by a drugged up john. It's really not the transness that's the core of their vulnerability though.

Which is great when you see AGP fetishists using these deaths as a way to bully lesbians into letting them creep.

About 7 (real) women are murdered each week in the UK.

Over the past decade the number of troons is 0 (although I think it could be as high as 1 but due to boring criminal stuff).

They're more of a danger to themselves than the society they claim is genociding them. But guess who the press believes and prints without question?

This always chaps my hide. As I've said, I have bipolar disorder and chronic pain disorders. I don't work now because my husband earns enough that I don't have to, but when I did I worked through depression strong enough to give me sucidial ideations, extreme pain every shift, and lots of fatigue. The only time I asked off for "mental health" was when I was in the hospital, and even then I felt terrible for not giving more than a couple days notice! (I ended up quitting because I didn't want them to be short handed if I was in there long term)

If you're absent, others have to pick up your slack. If you've got something contagious, yes, stay home. But if you're "just" depressed, you can still work - it's just harder to get stuff done. You can even act cheerful and happy if you're in a customer service position. It sucks, it's hard, but it can be done.

I'm not trying to downplay mental health issues, I'd never do that. Sometimes a mental health day is a valid reason to call out, like if you've been scheduled for seven days in a row or had a death in the family. But saying you need more than a day or two here and there is a red flag to me, and I'm about as far from a high achiever as they come.

Not sure about 1 per day in the UK but sources, women's refuges etc, report 2-3 women are murdered, due to DA, per week. A shocking number.

I got my figure from radfems because I'm too lazy to look it up so it's more than likely an over inflated lie. I'm sure at least one each week mouths off so much they deserve it but the extra one or two more a week is far too much.

Good misinformation has to actually sow doubt. There's no radfem gangs out there trafficking counterfeit Baker Creek Seeds catalogues but there could be. You'd believe it. I think another factor in the general population souring on troons is that they’ve begun to realize there’s a real goal difference here. Exceptions exist, of course, but it’s largely:

Gays: “The two of us want to be able to live our lives together in our own house, while being protected by partnership laws and not targeted by sodomy laws”

Trans: “I want to intrude into your life, including your language, friendship circles, bathrooms, sports teams, and bedrooms”
 
Really tired of hearing about all these imaginary "genocides." Troons aren't either numerous or hard to find, and if we normals were systematically hunting them down and killing them, we'd be rid of them in about four days.

There was a survey done by PRRI last year, I linked it quite a while back, I can find it again if people want it, that said most people across party lines agreed that trans people should not be discriminated against, but they should pee in bathrooms of their natal sex, play sports in their natal sex, and go to prison in their natal sex.

Even Democrats were saying these things, though the percentages were smaller than independents and Republicans. But even the Republicans thought that no trans person should lose their housing or job or be treated badly by Healthcare professionals just for being trans.

Basically, Americans, by and large, are TERFs.

Whether you accept them, hate them, or even want them dead, a gay person exists independent of your opinions.

A trans person specifically needs you, yes you, the random bystander, to acknowledge their existence. How dare you use the word woman to mean "person who menstruates?!?!". Don't you realize that your every thought and action must be filtered through the possibility of a random trans person being nearby and suffering a bout of terrible dysphoria because they were suddenly made aware of their penis and/or uterus. The fact that so many of them constantly seem on the edge of a nervous breakdown also doesn't help them. I have sympathy for mental health as much as the next guy, but a lot of these twitter troons seem to believe in a fantasy world where working isn't for survival for people. Always these stories about being the problem employee, needing extra support, writing letters to management, and wondering why all the working people around them got tired of it and wanted them to leave. If you're going to try and be the workplace activist, yes, you will be targeted. That's not a value statement, that's a fact. That is what it is to be a workplace activist. Don't act all sad that you "tried to do the right thing" like you were expecting a reward for it.

Last year, we got a school email regarding international "womxn"'s day. The next day, we got a correction email apologizing for using the word "womxn" because it "excludes TW and makes them feel like they're not women enough." The sad part, the person who wrote the email was a black woman who later resigned for being made to apologize for using "womxn." What gets to me the most, is that the only reason trannies complained about "womxn" was because Latinos were complaining about "Latinx." It makes me laugh how people will bend over backwards to change "womxn" because it offends trannies--fuck that it offends actual, natal women--but will ignore Latinos when they say the term doesn't identify them. Wasn't this Queer Nation--later Transgender Nation--that was primarily behind the militant queer movement of the 90s as a response to the betrayal of the gay community during the AIDS epidemic?
