From personal experience, I can vouch for how that's a hole that you can slip into if you have no introspection and get off more to the act of just buying something, rather than enjoying it. Anyone can have a huge shelf of video games for the price of a single console if you're willing to fill your shelves with old sports games, trashy licenses, and online-only games that don't work anymore.The coupon situation is baffling but makes sense through the lense of hoarding for hoarding sake, they just want to have lots of something piled up and may be mentally not making the connection that buying something cheap on discount is still a waste of money if you don't need it or you are buying too much of it. Funkos are like that too, individually they are cheap as shit but funkocels will drop copious amount of money for the satisfaction of simply having a lot of them. One 100$ nice statue that actually looks good on a shelve or 10 funkos? Funkos because they are more things and more is better
