I feel like I'm the only person who actually enjoyed the genocide route. Murderous psychopath simulators in games are way too fun.
If you murder Toriel in the last turn (when she decides to spare you) you get some bonus, heart-shattering dialogue. 10/10 would recommend to all masochists.
Can I say that Asriel's fate in the "true" ending is kinda bullshit? Even disregarding that he's a sweet kid when he's not being a sociopathic flower, am I really supposed to believe that he's not eventually gonna snap again after he turns back into Flowey? Even when he stayed at his parents' places for months at a time after transforming, it was just delaying the inevitable, not to mention that Asriel flatout tells you he's not trustworthy in that form.
Hearing that apparently there isn't a happier canon outcome just annoys me further.

Well, considering Cave Story had an ending where you can save everyone and it was only discovered years after the game was released (the folks who ported it to the Wii Store didn't even know about it because it was translated strangely) maybe there is a similar way to give him a happier ending?
Maybe something could be added to the game later, like the mystery about Dr. Gaster, we'll just have to wait and see

The Wii version of Cave Story had an additonal ending? The only "save everyone" ending I'm aware of is only available via fan patch for the PC version.

Pretty sure it does, I don't know about the 3ds version though.
I saw a video of it done and it was translated, but there are weird symbols around the items and text but I'll double check
EDIT: I think it is a mod because I can't find any definitive proof and people seem to be confused on wether it's real. I suppose I was fooled.
Anyway, the game might be updated or have dlc for different endings, the save select screen does say v 1.0.0 so that means that there may be more versions

Holy shit man. I feel so messed up inside. Once I found out the truth about everything, I felt even worse about killing Toriel. I finally met her husband, the king, and decided to finish him off as he wished to be with her and their children again.
And then Flowy comes in to rub it all in my face again. At the end, I decided to not finish him off. I feel kinda hypocritical after all that just happened, but part of me wanted to do that out of spite.
This game man. It was quite surprising. It gives off this pretty goofy and whimsical atmosphere, and then it goes and punches you in the gut. And for a $10 game, it was a short but sweet ride.
I'm going to try and not kill anyone on my next playthrough.
By the way, is the protagonist supposed to be a boy or a girl? The game seems to suggest girl, but I don't know, a lot of the characters in this game are pretty strange in how they deal with people.
I enjoyed the game but it was kind of annoying that
I completed the game initially without killing anyone and didn't realize I didn't have to reset the game to befriend Alphys but I enjoyed playing the second time anyhow and saw I had missed the Temmie Village which was neat
