In TCG-related news, it appears that the US/CAN Pokemon Center is cancelling TCG orders (more than likely containing products that have Celebrations packs in 'em) that have evidence of botting.

Judging by the pic it appears that this guy's friend placed 212 orders of which I can only assume contain 4 of each Celebrations product (A Collector's Chest, Pikachu V-Union Box, and a Pokemon Center-exclusive ETB) that was available on the site last month.

And the general consensus? It's basically the video below whilst also asking the question "why the hell is TPCi so incompetent in designing a bot-unfriendly website?"

So I've been playing Pokemon Unite and I been having a lot fun with it. It's a really nice to play when you have 5-10 minutes to kill.

What was the fuss with this game initially? Was it the paid aspects of it? The only things in the game that are locked behind its "Premium currency" is stuff you don't need (comestics and a few items in the shop) and the battle pass (that gives you free stuff even if you didn't pay for anything anyway).

Hell, this game actually very F2P friendly. It gives you bunch of playable mons to mess around with and get a feel for the game at the beginning and it gives you a bunch of free stuff you can use to further improve your gameplay.

I know it sounds like I'm shilling for the game, but I just want to get across that this is a lot more fun then I'd thought it would be.

The fuss was tha Tencent, a Red Chinese company, partnered with Nintendo in making the game.

Sucks that it gets memed on hard today because of it was the inception of the "Regi noises." However, I liked their dynamic as the antibodies of the Tree of Life, horrifying as those things were, JFC.
That it took people this long to realize how silly/awesome the Regi cries are I guess is a testament to the power of boredom, but if it gets more folks looking into the movie, I can't complain.
Say what you will about the meme, but that movie did an excellent job of showing off what legendary pokemon are supposed to be: eldritch, terrifying, absurdly powerful pokemon that should never be approached without extreme caution (especially by mute 10 year old kids). Kinda sad Registeel didn't get more "lines" in that movie its cry was amazing. Honestly the fact that the 8th film is regarded as one of the best in the franchise and it involves my favourite trio is pretty satisfying.

The production value of these shorts always increases at the expense of the dialog making any sense in English.

2:55-3:10 is pure rushed autism.
Team Flare has always been by far the team with the weakest reason for existence, so them having stupid and nonsensical dialogue is almost in character. Even Team Skull has more reason to exist and they're basically just a bunch of high school drop outs being angsty.

And they also had the most garish outfits, as well. But the only part that I liked about them is that they're an joke on how willing are to sign up for a pyramid scheme.

Hello, my name is Team Flare Grunt. Can I interest you in Thrive diet supplements or some DOTerra oils?

Team skull just exists. They could have easily been incorporated into or replaced the Aether foundation. Every encounter with them was the plot being retarded and walking into the ghetto part of town. Hell, one of the towns even was a Pokémon ghetto but with random paint splats, boarded up doors and windows, and smashed glass everywhere. Maybe they were made that way because it would have been too similar to team galactic with nebby and the alola duo?
They were almost certainly made that way to be the comic-relief evil team.

The Aether Foundation is an actual organization with some shady business going on behind the scenes. Team skull is just a group of street thugs.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus is not going to be open world, but more along the lines of Monster Hunter.

In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Jubilife Village will serve as the base for surveying missions. After receiving an assignment or a request and preparing for their next excursion, players will set out from the village to study one of the various open areas of the Hisui region. After they finish the survey work, players will need to return once more to prepare for their next task. We look forward to sharing more information about exploring the Hisui region soon.

Honestly, while I was disappointed at first, the hints were all there. Besides, this new direction i still a big, more open break from the standard Pokémon formula.

I'm fine with that. Makes more sense for pokemon to go in the direction of Monster Hunter than BoTW or Skyrim.

I'm also fine with it but it's gonna be funny when the autism breaks out over the expectation of it being more like the latter, unless the fans are still hung up over trees

Dude... Pokémon X and Y had so much true and honest potential... I feel bad tha the 20th anniversary seemed to have gotten rid of Pokémon Z...
The lack of a pokemon Z caused so many problems for this franchise it's not even funny
>caused kalos to be forgettable as a region with no expansion
>sun and moon's short dev time which probably had a cascading effect leading into the shit with pokemon on switch
>Started a trend of the generational
gimmicks being abandoned with going from megas to Z moves, leaving them underbaked
They seem to be unfucking the trend with arceus but god damn if only we got AZ's floette it would have prevented half the bullshit post gen 5

It felt obvious game freak was easing their way into more open design, not disappointed since if it was a massive open world while changing so many other things about the formula it would probably be too much too fast for them to handle. Plus they can focus on adding depth to each areas design rather than filling it with open space. Still funny though that the pokemon game that takes the most from monster hunter is the one that seems to be a single player affair with no online modes to speak of
