Late af, but TIL, Sengoku is the only Marine soldier confirmed to possess Haoushoku Haki.

I think they are, If I remember correctly they worked as assistants on the same manga when they were much younger than they are now.

In regards to the chapter.

Luffy telling Momo to bite Kaido just so he could say "You bit a Yonko what do you have to be afraid of?" Is so fucking in character.

Brief summary by Redon on AP forums-

Title- "Danger beyond imagination"

- Luffy asks Yamato to help Momonosuke.

- Yamato understands Luffy's intentions, he wants to fight a 1-on-1 with Kaidou.

- Yamato: "Dragons don't fly, they run through the sky grabbing the clouds they create. These clouds are called "flame clouds."

- We see rocks falling from Onigashima. Yamato believes that Kaidou's power is weakening and that his "flame clouds" are unstable.

- Momonosuke must create his "flame clouds" to hold Onigashima and prevent it from falling on the Capital of Flowers.

- Zoro vs. King.

- King transforms and begins attacking both enemies and allies.

- Zoro breaks King's mask with an attack called "Ultra Tiger Hunt" and we see part of King's face.

- King takes Zoro out of the castle, who almost falls off the island.

- Zoro: "At least let me die with a sword or I won't forgive you."

- King: "I won't forgive you either."

Got sick of the site's culture shift and its constant drama, all of which came at a time where I was already increasingly feeling that I needed to cut back on internet time to focus on my life and make the most of it.

I'll probably be around this thread and the interests sections more than anything else.

Nothing but respect for Oda, most artists would never even have the thought of having their precious marketable anime girl's drawn as older and uglier with age cross their minds, let alone go out of their way to draw an instance where it *could* happen rather than how they'd *like* it to happen.

That said, Old Nami's "good future" design is making my brain release the many endorphins, oof.
 
I am currently a bit after Skypie so like chapter 310 or something, I think this is my favorite arc so far, but maybe reading it all at once was not a pretty good idea as I am already feeling a bit of burnout.

If you are starting to feel burnout, I would take a week break before starting the next arc.

Things uhh, Escalate..and I know that sounds strange when I am talking about things escalating after a fight with a Guy who calls himself God.

No shame in taking the animu route, that way you'll know which arcs to devote more time to and have enough of an idea to even skip reading some arcs you didn't particularly enjoy but still not miss out on the story.

-But then again my favorite early/preskip arcs are Syrup Island and Thrillerbark so my opinions are probably sketch in terms of what would be an enjoyable read vs. an exhausting or boring slog regarding the manga.

I dont know why but i think alot of ZKK fanboys are gonna be malding at his one, the fact that all of those shitters talked such big fucking game about zoro is now coming to bite them in the ass.
But anyway it is a really nice chapter, its nice to see "physical" confirmation of luffy's yonko status. But here i posit something for us all to think about. If Luffy can split the heavens, who is out of the yonko since it literally means "4 emperors". All of these questions make me anxious to see what comes next, bravo oda, bravo.

I’m not talking about power scaling bs. Or it being too early. I’m saying that Big News was clearly set up bs as presented by the narrative and done so that when Luffy got to Wano and got one-shot the fandom would lose it’s mind. Which they did.

I happen to think it’s perfectly fine for Luffy to be progressing at the rate he is. The only complaint I have is I would have liked more visuals of Luffy figuring out Kaido was coating his weapon in Conquerors.

Its wasn't really BS, though. Luffy has a fleet sailing under his banner, took out 3 (4?) of the Warlords single-handedly, and stood toe to toe with Big Mom with just half his crew in tow. I don't think Luffy getting one-shot by Kaido speaks to his Emperor status. Rather, it just builds the legend.

Agreed. The existence of Devil Fruits makes power level speculation worthless. I don't think anybody would claim Luffy wasn't punching above his weight class when he beat Eneru. Or punching below it when he fought Doffy. They just ended up posing threats on the basis of how well their devil fruits contrasted his. It doesn't matter how strong Luffy gets, I don't think there will ever be a situation where Aokiji doesn't pose a grave threat.

Kaido's just the first bad guy in a long time to challenge Luffy in a contest of who can punch the hardest.
