Sour grapes is literally the epitome of what Spencer's behavior has been like since 2017. He hates that he isn't as popular as he once was. He hates that he doesn't have the attention or influence over people that he once had. He hates seeing others on the right get more attention than he does. He is a bitter fuck.

Spencer said in this piece by The Atlantic that he essentially believes that 'there's no such thing as bad publicity', so I guess Eli shared that view too. It has some merit, the more exposure you get the more clicks you get, but I bet a higher amount of people will just get turned away so it's a really shitty strategy ultimately.

That’s the thing with Alt-Right leaders and proponents like Penis and Eli, is that they use tactics that arent bad per se, their execution is so poorly-handled that they almost always backfire on them so badly that they to run back with their tails tucked between their legs and have to harp on about “optics” to their followers when they do the most unoptical shit imaginable. For example, the video with Eli mentions “triggering”, where they provoke their political opponents to react in a stronger, perhaps violent way, then they would do so they could look better than their enemies, yet everyone who thinks of Charlottesville’s UNITE THE RIGHT rally is only going to remember is this:
