When I was growing up the hip thing to do was to eschew and disavow labels, because you can't label me, man! I'm a complex human being and you can't fit me into your little boxes! Now the kids all rush to give themselves labels, the more the better. You say you don't constantly walk around thinking about sex all day? You're an asexual. You don't like having sex with strangers? You're demisexual. You can even choose labels that are mutually exclusive and be a polyamorous aromantic! I do think some good can come of it. Because the more people keep their body and just dress however the fuck they want (call yourself non-binary no one cares) the more we can move away from “I like dresses/suits, therefore I must mutilate my body to match”. Frankly I connect this attitude more to the whole pink/blue hyped-gendered stuff kids go through at an early age than anything else. How many of these guys are just dudes who liked a Disney Princess?
In the past they would have just been bullied into submission. Now it’s “well you can’t be a man, men can’t possibly like that girly stuff so you must be a woman” it’s like society is trying it’s damnedest to separate the genders by trivial shit and it’s backfiring horribly.

2: humans are hyper-social animals, and we work best in teams. We’re also smart.
3: humans have dumb-ass useless babies. Seriously, it’s like a year and a half till they can walk. Have you seen other placental mammal babies? They’re up and running in a few hours.
4: given numbers 2&3 humans tend to, at a minimum, pair up to care for babies. It takes a village, but having at least 2 people per baby really helps.
5: the female orgasm is how evolution decided to make sure that the pair bond, and therefore the offspring, survive. Otherwise the intelligence of the female will kick in and go “hey, why am I sleeping with this guy, I just get knocked up and almost die pushing out a useless baby. I’m leaving”.
6: Ever hear of the term “female selection”? Look it up and start practicing loverboy.
