Higher quality breakfast food than a Dennys/IHOP but worse than your small town mom and pop diner. Geriatrics adore it because the walls are plastered with knick knacks they remember from their childhood and there's ample parking space even for their RV's they should be required to get a CDL for.

It's an overstatement to call it culture, sure but it's the same reason why people had issues with FireFox changing it's logo, it all ends up looking like the front page of an app store. People hate corporate artwork (people with tiny heads and giant limbs) for the same reason.

And that was the real issue: Cracker Barrels looks was the last, unique Americona place around. We don't need another sterile Denny's, people wanted a place with some flair that looked different.
