Not sure where to put this, but @Ruben Sim helped Alex Rosen catch a predator - this one a Roblox developer. Ruben doesn't go into details into what his role was in the tweet but I assume his Roblox predator identifying expertise was a big help to Rosen, who doesn't know much about Roblox. ETA: Looks like Ruben found the guy and pointed him out to Alex, and Alex more or less took it from there.

I haven't posted in a while but I feel like this was pretty important to post, as this game got promoted by a very popular Roblox YouTuber known as Remainings.
This game, known as "Block Game Crossplay" (which is pretty technically impressive), has loads of porn shared around the discord server which is completely unmoderated and is open to minors. The game encourages players to join the discord server to access their Minecraft server.
I've seen minors ask others (including adults) for porn and vice versa, as it's literally shared everywhere. I even saw someone just now argue with someone else about how it's bad that minors are seeing porn.
I brought this to the attention of the owner and he has completely ignored me. He has neglected this server entirely and has no moderators, and refuses to do anything about it.
The game itself is also virtually completely moderated, with people building inappropriate builds, albeit nowhere near as severe since it's just Minecraft.
I have no idea how to get this taken down since it's just the Discord server, and they might make an excuse for the game itself, so I'm in a bit of a rough situation.

Roblox banning people for wearing a hat (not ugc) is new territory, right? I remember they offsaled the ghost masks because of KKK resemblance but they didn't ban anyone.

Much newer for sure. Should note that most (if not all) of the active MSS wearers have appealed successfully and had their accounts reinstated since posting that, but many more might remain termed just because they were wearers who've left the site years ago.

I member Jared but my memory is pretty fuzzy. Did he drop out of school to try and do Roblox full time or was that a rumor (or different person)?

As for it being a rumor back then I'm not sure. Probably just mixing it up with someone else because I wouldn't be surprised if many developers have done that.

Coomers would be easier just by relative scale, but I have zero intentions of sitting on the periphery of any pooner-heavy 'blox fandoms for the foreseeable future because watching them act the way they do screws with my blood pressure too much. I'm sure Pressure will end up producing more drama, but until then, sorry :(

This is just a Roblox thing. If devs aren't trying to make a beat-for-beat clone of indie/AA/AAA games they're fixated on, they're making a game that's a hodge-podge of all their influences while minimally changing their copy of the "homework" in order to keep things obvious (if they bother changing it at all, even). It's probably the mix of autism and "surely this won't escape my target audience" thinking that makes them do it. Pressure has more examples of this, with elements being "pressureized"/pulled from sources they don't cite at all, too.

"Reference heaven" is an apt term for much of what's on Roblox and especially the project that Zeal's referencing (which I’m very certain is Midnight Horrors—it’s gotten into trouble with the Hylics composer also because of kids spamming OST upload comments with references to a character set that used his music outright and MH narrowly avoided a DMCA over it, and the game has gone down at least once just to saw off other infringing content it was risking getting in trouble for).

ETA: Apparently Sebastian’s cameo appearance in Regretevator got updated so that if you give him flowers(?) he’ll reference Zerum and there’s people angry about it. I don’t really care and you couldn’t pay me to sit in that game for long enough to find his floor and verify this myself. The fangirls dumb enough to still get mad instead of having the sense to laugh at Zerum for trying to force a ship this hard and being waifuist-adjacent deserve to be salty, honestly.

I know everyone focuses on the spergy coomers and groomers on this platform and for very good reason, but a lot of the more innocuous games on the platform are predatory as well. One of the most popular games on the platform, Sonic Speed Simulator is promoting gambling to a mostly child audience and is using a very recognizable brand that is often considered 'safe' to parents to do so. I know at this point, promoting gambling addiction to children is more or less accepted given how common this practice both on Roblox and general mobile games targeted at kids is. Hell, it wasn't even in the top 3 reasons of Mr. Beast's attempted cancellation.

they hide the odds! I didn't know this was legal anymore.

I know this is part and parcel of Roblox games these days (and gaming in general to a lesser extent), but it's shocking it's done in such a high profile game connected to a very well known IP, I believe it's this sort of thing that will start to lead to bans in more countries in addition to the sexual degeneracy rampant on this platform. It's also just quite sad to see brand tie-ins come to this on this platform, it's bizarre to think about that this all started with a small addition of a skate park themed to a Disney channel show and that it apparently received negative reactions at the time over fears of Disney buying the game. It's so quaint now.

No, he was banned (several times) and quit before you could even make money from roblox. At the time roblox's front page had no form of curation or recommendation algorithms and instead it was just the games in order of most active players. There were a category of people who ran "bait and switch" games where you would make a generic game like an obby, do a bit of legwork to get it onto the front page, and then keep changing the name and thumbnail of it to something completely different every hour or two to some nonsense that barely makes sense but is intriguing

This would then trick everyone into thinking it's a new game and playing it again and it'd just perpetually keep a shitty game that most people are only playing for a minute or two on the front page for weeks at a time. There were a decent number of these, but Jared was one of the first and also used blatantly stolen copies of some of the most popular games on the website while doing so, so he's the most infamous. I believe he also used to run stolen games without doing the bait and switch tactic, but he was certainly using the tactic constantly by the time he was banned

I remember some zombie shooter game that was presented without bait and switch. I refused to play his games and hated him for stealing lol. I remember Faceblox too, I thought it was a keylogger and didn't touch it.
 
Roblox is a prime example of why you shouldn't allow your children on the internet if they are young, on one hand it could be really good for them, maybe they find friends in a WWII Game and become extremely redpilled, but its also just as likely they end up in some troon shithole RP and get groomed
