Twitter is still compromised. Stating that you are reluctant to consider "transgender people" people will get an infraction, possibly also saying "transgender women are not women" Never stated that I do not consider transgender people to be people, just that I am reluctant. Of course they are not people at all and richly deserve the sort of absolute inhumanity to man that is necessary and good.

This is just "don't shit up the site by creating accounts solely to tell people to follow you elsewhere." Crossposting and linking to them is still allowed. But I'm sure terminally online weirdos will come up with some sophisticated bullshit argument for how this unfairly impacts trannies/BiPOC or is ackshually a transgression of free speech or whatever.

That's what I love about this situation. It's absolutely hysterical no matter which "side" you're on.
On the one hand, you have the incredibly autistic billionaire son of an incestuous, South African, sexpest weirdo blowing 44 billion dollars on a complete, and utter trainwreck of a site just for the meme of it. He spouts the same usual lolbertarian "absolute freeze peach" bullshit, and tries to implement such an idea, but is immediately btfo as chaos ensues, and investors, and advertisers pull out. Then he tries to make more money by charging only $8 to be verified which causes not only more insanity, but also one of the biggest stock drops in history at a whopping 22 billion dollars lost in a single day.
He then backpedals as he suddenly sees the insanely disastrous consequences of such policies, and how what he originally wanted isn't financially feasible even if he's one of the richest people on earth because he's wasted so much money on this, and no other company wants to touch this dumpster-fire with a 40ft pole.
The walls start closing in as he obviously gets pissed off at his retarded mistake, and all the backlash he's getting, and then he starts changing the rules, and banning people for dumb shit like "doxxxxxxxing" even though that goes against his original "absolute freeze peach" goal, and what he qualifies as doxing isn't even what it actually is, and then starts banning people for even retweeting jokes, and reactions about the irony, and absurdity of it all.
In less than two months, he's turned into Lowtax, and if even that wasn't bad enough, he now says he's going to implement a rule to stop people from promoting "certain" other sites, which like every other one of his decisions, will clearly go well.
For all intents and purposes, Musk should be the sole loser here, but he's not because on the other hand, you have the retards sperging about him who manage to somehow be just as pathetic.
You have these idiots, who let's face it, are just as autistic as Elon if not more so because instead of just laughing at him as he spirals out of control via his own stupidity, and ego, and takes Twitter down with him, chimp out, and act like he's actively killing them. Not just act, literally say that.
These people who always smug chuckle about how terminally online people should "touch grass", can't even follow their own advice as they piss, and moan about censorship, and fascism even though what's happening is nowhere near that, and is incredibly ridiculous to even be remotely claimed as such.
Not to mention the very fact of saying that reveals just how privileged, and pathetic these people are. These aren't real journalists, or activists putting themselves in danger on the front lines of war, or revolutions. They're not fighting, or rebelling against actual oppressive dictatorships like North Korea, or China. They're fucking spoiled, retarded, genderspecial whitefucks larping that while in reality having the easiest, cushiest lives, and jobs in the world.
Like the spoiled, coddled cunts they are, they go full mask off as soon as they're told "no", and then start screeching, and hosting cringy zoom calls where then because Musk can't not be retarded for five minutes, decides to join in, and causes a giant blackhole of autism that's somehow even more embarrassing than him getting booed for ten minutes straight at a Dave Chapelle concert. Because that also somehow fucking happened.
Not one of these fucking idiots can keep their mouths shut, and just sit back, and enjoy the show because of their terminal narcissism, autism, and privilege. Not one of them has the intelligence to make a good decision because they are that fucking dumb, and spoiled, and it is fucking amazing that we get to witness all of it.

When I looked at the Quote Tweets of that announcement, the people I saw complaining/crying about it the most were politicos and Twitter "artists".
And the reasons why they would complain is incredibly obvious. "Normal" people don't use Twitter. The average person on the street doesn't need fifteen different social media accounts. This move purely affects those who are trying to run businesses off of being niche internet micro-celebrities and "regular" internet celebrities.

In its current iteration, I'm doubtful of this, as Twitter is functionally a luxury and its TOS can tell you to do whatever. In comparison to Microsoft being forced to tell you about firefox, chrome, et al when you install Windows, Twitter's share of the "market" of social media space isn't anywhere near as dominant as MS's was with Windows.
If Twitter (and social media in general) were to fall under heavier government regulation, then disallowing the sharing of alternate social media accounts is probably grounds for some form or another of wrist-slap.
While it's an anticompetitive move, it isn't like your local dive bar has to be chill with you shit-talking it the entire time while you praise some shitty yuppie place down the street. Of course, the dynamics of Twitter are very, very different - this comes off as a bumbling and incompetent policy cooked up by someone without a clue. Legally it may be kosher, but it won't be reassuring to whatever idiots have their money tied up in that company.

I think it is more targeting accounts that do nothing but use Twitter as Free advertisement. Least that is the interpretation I concluded after reading that Tweet. Sort of like I wouldn't want an employee or volunteer bad mouthing the charity or business while actively participating on the platform or entity I work for. Maybe not a precise analogy considering it is individuals who don't work for Twitter.
