Linkara's bat credit card defense is just dumb, the silliest bit in it is not even going into why Batman would need one and the fact he epicly put Doug in his place by telling him to go to the corner.
the card itself was just a horrible moment, with the expiration date of 'forever' on it, and using the American Express slogan. It was truly just campy for the sake of camp, and trying to break it down as "Hold on now, this isn't the MOST insane bat-shit stupid moment of the movie and blah blah blah" is just false pseudo intellectualism on the level of Vaush trying to explain why he wants to rape kids with a horsecock and why that isn't as bad as owning an iPhone.

Grounded usually means a Batman who would work in real life, which is what the Nolan movies strived to do. Every bit of tech Batman uses was a real, working gadget they had on set. No Mr Freeze, no Clayface, no Poison Ivy, just villains who are capable of doing things a real person could do. Scarecrow is about the wildest things get, but he's just drugging people.
What I liked about the Nolan movies was how in the last one they showed what the strain of being Batman would have placed on his body. Doctors and experts in the field have said that anybody who wanted to be Batman could only do so for about 10 years before their body started breaking down.

On the other hand... it's a fucking comic book that has super strong aliens, shape shifters and other ridiculous things in it. Trying to make it grounded actually takes away from the story universe.

And that was really the whole point. It was to show up Doug who, let's be real here, had a point. A Bat credit card wouldn't work. It was supposed to be a joke as the Schumacher movies were supposed to be campy and silly and they were reminded every time they started the shoot, "we're making a comic book movie here".

Yeah the movies were campy and over the top but that was the point.

EDIT: Spelling

Yeah Linkara had to go into a lore dump rather than just say "it's just a dumb throwaway gag"

Instead he wanted to be intellectual but it made him look like more of an idiot

Because nothing can ever be "just a dumb throwaway gag" for him. Everything has to be treated real and serious. Like the house ship in To Boldly Flee being used to make a real space ship in his own movie. Or Dark Nella being a parody of Linkara's type of skits, and then he has Nella crying about how awful it was while he apologizes for not doing more to help in his show.

He takes himself and the reviewer verse way too seriously and can't understand why everyone laughs at him for doing so.

The artist known as "Dr. Crafty", who made Linkara's title cards in the past and does the voice of Pollo, has apparently admitted to sexual assult and will no longer be working with Lewis. He has also created a lot of art for AT4W merchandise, which will be discontinued.

Hello, everyone.

This is not a statement I make easily or lightly. Dr. Crafty, the former title card artist for the show and the voice of Pollo, has confessed to sexually assaulting someone. You can seek out the details for yourself, but needless to say we are no longer associated with him. The voice of Pollo will be recast (no decisions have been made yet about how this will be done; I will keep you all apprised).

Over the years, Dr. Crafty contributed a significant amount of artwork for the show. Not just the title cards, but artwork for merchandise – t-shirts, DVDs, posters, the badge cards, etc. While I feel it’s important for the history of the show to not remove the title cards or his presence in past episodes (lest we pretend as if it never happened at all), I cannot in good conscience continue selling merchandise featuring his art. I have discontinued the listings of all products that featured his art and plan to replace it with new art as I can. The sheer number of items means I cannot afford to replace it all at once (nor would I expect a single artist to do such a task given its volume), so I request you be patient as we go through this process.

As for the existing merchandise currently in stock, we will be hosting a charity stream in the future (date to be decided) where we will raise money for RAINN (Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network), selling off these items and donating the proceeds (minus shipping costs).

Thank you for your time and support.

Crafty's youtube seems to be still up but their Twitter has already been DFE'd.

EDIT: Crafty's Ex has posted a Google Doc explaining the situation. They have also quote-tweeted what is allegedly an archive of his response before DFE-ing.

Ok, what is this confession? Who did he confess to? What sort of sexual assault? Who was the victim?

I mean, not to downplay a sexual assault confession, but with the crowd Lewis runs with, asking a woman on a date without her consent would be 'wrong'.

Without the confession itself, there can be a shit ton of guessing. I will admit it's telling he wiped his twitter.

EDIT: Found it.

Ok, nevermind. This is pretty vile shit. This is the fourth sexual deviant Lewis has had in his inner circle.

Well that was disturbing but not unexpected. I mean polycules are just fucking weird. A guy is okay with another woman "dating" his wife then figures to get in on the action. Then the woman is too stupid to understand what fucking sexual assault is and had to have this explained to her.

If this isn't an indictment against the kinds of people that engage in this kind of stuff I don' t know what is.

And then of course he's inside Lewis' circle of friends as he too is another sexual deviant.

Wanna bet Lewis will keep making more of a fuzz about Doug than this guy? He will just mention this as little as possible, give an empty apology, and hide it under a rug and focus his anger on someone truly deserving: Doug for daring to be more famous than him.

For someone who hates the stereotype of the know it all comic nerd (think comic book guy. Lenny Baxter, or the characters in comic book villians)

He does a damn good job living up to said stereotype.

Everyone involved with Channel Awesome was that stereotype, except for maybe Doug

If I remember correctly, Doug has been married to his wife for a long time.
Think it was in 07 or so that he got married.
Brad Jones has been married twice and has a little jack jones who's a year old now.

Lewis himself is married but it feels like desperation from both of them and I doubt a little mullato lewy jr will be around anytime soon.

Is guru Larry (Aka the last guy who stuck around lomgest aside Brad) still single? I think Mike j (my god has he gotten old) had a significant other but I don't know if they ever tied the knot I stopped caring after jevons grew that beard and stopped making shameful sequels.

Dude was Batman for six months. There are karate white belts who saw more action than him.
