Also it should be said, despite my many many calls to have Ralph extradited from Guntsville and drawn and quartered, you dont have to make a job out of seeing him actually ruined to the point he cant interact with us anymore. I think in most cases it's less that Ralph is collecting dirt directly so he can hold it over the heads of people, and more that it's just an inevitability that Ralph's habits as a tabloid muckraker will feed into his behavior when he eventually turns on someone. The level of commitment just changes depending on how he perceives the level of threat.

In the case of someone like Mark Collett, as a random example, he probably does have a pile of bookmarks saved from when he scoped him out for his first appearance on the show. Everything from articles in ANTIFA rags to articles smearing him in mainstream papers. He would hold onto those partially because he's already done the work to get them, but also so he could dip into them the if time ever comes for him to disavow and distance himself from Collett, for whatever reason. Suddenly the smears written by some communist could have enough of a kernel of truth to them that it becomes prudent to stop inviting him to the show.

In the case of someone like Rand though, he just becomes more proactive with habit he already has. If he has real dirt then he can feel more comfortable in knowing that he can retaliate whenever he needs to, and he can push the guy around with a level of confidence. Remember again what @adezero said about Ralph being shy and anxious. Ralph knows that without being able to lord information and gossip over others, there would be no reason for anyone to treat him with any level of respect. Everybody would just treat him like the pathetic character he knows he really is. It's as plain as that.
