I see this sentiment a lot with people online whether it be with sargon, ethan, or even the nostalgia critic. What made these people interesting was how unique they were in our eyes. They weren't particularly good but they had almost no competition and for a good while their competition tried to ape their style.
That being said, Ethan has gotten lazy he's spent so long on the podcast where all he has to do is spout his luke warm takes and people will watch because he used to be the funny man. You can tell in his last two videos that he doesn't enjoy doing this anymore he looks like most of my coworkers do, dead inside and doing the bare minimum. If I was to guess podcast views are going down and he's trying to recoup some of the losses caused by Corona by making some videos.
