A lot of it their material spendings has to do with ego and self esteem.

People like Ethan (clout chasing creators) care too much about how other people perceive them. To them, unhealthy amount of their worth is tied to public perception. This is why he's a chameleon that appears to be suffering from identity crisis (chasing that clout) but really it's how he feeds his own ego. Those kind of people are sort of like on trial with themselves all the time - comparing themselves to others whether they're better than them and constantly trying to validate themselves with material things simply because they think that's how their "value on the market" will be worth more.
It's unhealthy mindset to have because he's burned plenty of bridges already and soon, he'll have to desperately search for new people to validate him but he'll not fix the root of the issue on why is he desperately looking to fix that hole by chasing that clout.

I think a good recent example is Fouseytube , I watched his recent interview with Bradley Martyn and he explained how he's (desperately) reached that clout peak two times and it never made him truly happy. It always lead to inevitable burn out and depression (which Ethan might be experiencing now) until he started getting priorities in order.. Fixing his sleep schedule, nutrition, putting a lot more value & worth into relationships that actually matter and made him who he was to begin with and other things such as leaving social media where he was constantly looking for small dopamine boosts by getting validation from complete strangers. It's been few weeks since I watched that interview but it gives you good basic understanding on why clout chasing creators might end up being miserable.

The core question of all Clout chasers is why are they chasing clout? Its pretty much always because they are unhappy with themselves and clout chasing is an easy way to get small dopamine boosts to make them feel good (temporarily) and outrun the real problems with themselves that make them incredibly unhappy.

Its a coping mechanism essentially, and like all coping mechanisms its just one big spiraling loop that only leads to further unhappiness. Lets take a good look at Ethan and all the he has in life. On the surface it looks amazing.

He has a wife, two kids, 9 million dollar home in California, at least two profitable businesses that his family has complete creative control over. Look deeper though and its all hollow and fracturing at ever more rapid rates.

His wife seems incredibly unhappy with him, the only people outside his wife he hangs out with are employees and leech business partners (other streamers) who don't really care about Ethan as a person, he has completely isolated himself from all his real friends to the point that most of them now hate him, his families businesses are stagnant or rapidly losing revenue, and he is old, fat, ugly, demonstrably stupid and his dick doesn't work,

He was in a far better place mentally before all of this despite being dirt poor and on the verge of losing his relationship with Hila. The spiral of his clout chasing coping cycle has been spinning for a long time and he will only end up in a worse and worse situation until he breaks the cycle, gets proper help and changes his life.

He won't do that, but its what is best for him right now while he has all the money and support he currently has.

If someone calls you a racist and you mention you have a black friend, spouse or family member they'll just say you're "tokenizing" them and that proves you're even more racist. Although I'm sad to see a cow crossover be canceled, I do think what Nick did was smart. He really has nothing to gain from doing the interview, and Ethan/Hila have such a terrible history in how they treat guests and antagonize them. Ethan would of 100% made fun of him nonstop, be disrespectful when nick will talk, and whore out advertisements that'll be boosted with his guest presence. Really Nick would've been used, and not genuinely invited to have a conversation or be honest interaction.

People think Nik is dumb but he's actually incredibly smart. He knows he's killing himself. He chooses to live his life the way he wants and I honestly respect him for that. No one says you have to live to be 80. He clearly doesn't want to and ain't nothing wrong with that.

I mean obviously mentally that's fucked but it's his body and his life.

Good for Nick. I hope he got paid beforehand and took the money and spent it on The Heart Attack Grill.

It’s not standard to pay people for podcast appearances. Both people usually benefit from it.

Nikocado definitely did the right thing though since his audience is a good size already and the comments H3 made were really demeaning. Does not seem worth it.
