Funny how a lot of artists with the will to improve their skills seamlessly amassed huge amounts of money on Patreon by advertising on Deviantart while mediocre douchebags that bitch and whine about criticism can't even make 50 dollars a month from something they went to college to do.

As an addendum I'd like to point out a rather considerable number of popular artists on DA are self-taught. How fucked up is that?

I'd wager it will go along the lines of "if Trump is so rich he should have donated way more money" followed by how bad and horrible and orange he is.

There was a part in the game where you could make the two female characters kiss for the first time (And then using your characters time powers immediately reverse time and do it again), I wonder how many times he replayed that particular scene?

Dobson is the sad real-life version of Peter Pan. He refuses to grow up and doesn't want to change, but instead of Peter Pan he is fat, gets old, has no friends, no admirers, no hair, no victories or successes, no stories to tell and his Neverland is his parents basement.
 
Dobby complaining about DA, is just too funny. Didn't he feel like DA was not helping him with his success in the art world? Wasn't he jealous of artists who had way more followers than him and were always on the front page? Wasn't he mad that anime is popular in DA?

Like there's so many artists that ended up becoming successful thanks to DA. And yet Dobby here hasn't had any improvement since he last left the website

it's just because they usually used it just as a platform and tried getting big outside of DA
Dobbie more or less did the opposite

back in my old DA days I followed plenty of professional artists. most I've seen tried to stay away from fanart unless it was commissioned and almost all of them didn't do the ranting and raving Dobbles did in his journals
the way one of them explained to me is that a function like that serves better to announce upcoming works, future endeavors, and opening commissions as a rule with personal journals coming way in the back

He basically tried to make his personal DA his professional DA, only still doing all the things you'd do in a personal one.

Dobson's biting the hand that fed him. If it weren't for DA, you'd be a fucking nobody kinda like...you are now at this very moment. DeviantArt has its faults yes (tracers, trolls, porn, and the disproportionate amount of favoritism towards fan art and the almost blind eye to original art) but it's only as good as you make it.
:powerlevel: I'm still on dA and while I get crazy annoyed at a lot of the shit on there, I still feel grateful that I joined. I wouldn't have gotten as far along in my own art if it weren't for it and the people i met. :powerlevel:

He complains about the site being a popularity circle jerk but that's literally all he fucking cared about while on there. Being popular and making money off of his anime looking art. He's the exact same thing he was just bitching about and because of his lack of self awareness, he doesn't even realize it. No one who wants to actually enjoy art and being on the site gives a shit about the damn block limit, trolls, or any of that shit. If you want to do art, then do it. He's so fucking shallow at times but this is just water on the pavement compared to before. Call a spade a spade Dobson and just admit you want to be on dA and be popular again like you were in 2007-2008. It must suck being past your "prime" and watching kids literally half your age do your job AND better.
 
Dobby's got some points about DA, namely how everything is a popularity contest now and the site has gotten so inflated (heh heh) with people trying to make it "big". Also points do suck sometimes because a lot of people don't know their proper value and undersell themselves. Commisions can be a pain to get if you want to make actual money.
Asking DA to pay people just for posting isn't in any way realistic though! As people have mentioned, DA is for selling yourself and working to get commissions. Posting and calling it good is only part of the battle. And if you don't even draw, then...well...you can see how well thet's working out for him.
It's funny, I've been a DA fag for 10 years and remember back when syac always made front page. He seemed so less crabby and his art still has some charm.

DA is like Youtube, it's the only outlet that gives people like him attention and attention whores that gush over him.
