Thanks for answering the questions, Devi.

These two one aren't necessarily about you, but more about your "scene" in general.

When looking into Chloe Sagal, it dawned on me that it was nearly impossible to find someone in that scene who didn't have an accusation of sexual/physical abuse against them, usually levied at them by someone else in the circle. I found this interesting because I just don't believe that there is THAT much sexual assault going on, so my question is, do you think there are more false allegations of this sort of thing among you and your acquaintances than in other communities? Are these accusations a way to sort of build alliances among different cliques in the trans community? Is being accused of sexual assault a serious black-eye for a possible acquaintence in your eyes, or is that just sort not a big deal?

What is your opinion on Lorelei Bailey? Have you had any dealing with her? There appear to be some people who are literally afraid of speaking about her, positively or negatively.

Oh, and one question about you more directly: Did you know who the other A.mber Coal was when you changed your name to that for awhile?

Every experience I've had with queer / trans / SJW people calling something rape is actually just sex they regretted having.

I know I'd get a lot of shit for saying that, but it's been the case time and time again. Every person I've known who I trust and have actually dealt with sexual assault and physical abuse in their past talk about it plainly... they don't build their identity around it, because they want to or have moved on.

... and when people talk about predatory sexual folk in the queer / trans community, the people claiming rape are usually asexual folks who feel pressured into consensual sexual situations that they never had to get involved with in the first place.

I guarantee you the "predators" they claim are in the community would never have engaged if they knew the person they were engaging with were uncomfortable.

Think of trans folk and those coming out in the queer community as being young folks in puberty exploring their sexuality, which is very much what they are... it's awkward, messy, and there are regrets. Is there also sexual assault and non consensual engagement? Of course. Humans are fucking awful and being trans / queer doesn't change that.

... but it's been my experience those most vocal about that stuff are usually full of shit, and yeah, it's definitely a means to conquer and divide social circles.

re : Laurelai, I've spoken with her on a one on one level a few times and I always got the impression she was a former troll trying to clean up her act. I get the feeling she's the kind of person whose house of cards came down after years of trying to fuck with various internet power structures. Just my impression. I don't really know much about her actual dealings other than what I've heard here and there. On a one on one basis though she seemed on the level and honestly trying to stay out of bullshit. She has definitely become one of those scapegoats on all sides of social justice. Not to mention too, if she was involved with FBI stuff, lord only knows what she's tied up in these days from a legal stand point. :/ I honestly feel for her. Then again, you can always just walk away from the internet, so who knows how much of the drama surrounding her is the bed she's made.

I'm actually pretty close to paying them back!

The IRS is very cool and I've been on a payment plan with them for years now. Actually was caught up for that one year I was really on top of my shit. They gave me a break the past year or two when my income dwindled down to nothing.

It's always been amusing to me how many people try to spin the "people owing the IRS money" as some kind of demonizing character flaw when it's very common for people, especially self employed, to get behind on taxes.

Also, the IRS is incredibly chill about back taxes as long as you are communicating with them. I always heard horror stories about them, but naw, they are incredibly helpful and flexible.

Earlier, @BOLDYSPICY! and I checked out some of Chloe Sagal's games. Homesick was all right if finicky; That Really Hot Chick was bad (but I place the blame of that solely on being so rushed). We also checked out some of Rani's games, and though we had.... Issues with her first game Devil's Forge, her other works were quite enjoyable. Several of us enjoyed Dead Gods. I understand you make games too. Have any you'd like to share?

Speaking of Zoe, how did she act in your conversations? If you read the Zoe Post, was there any of her mannerisms that her ex-boyfriend Gjoni spoke of that looked like it was real by speaking with her?

I actually got to see some of Chloe's work in person. She is actually incredibly talented and has folders and folders of unfinished work that really blew my mind. Like, people just see the drama and whatever, but if more saw the breadth of her work I think it'd really challenge people's perception of her. I feel for Chloe. She's one of those folks that's really just slipping through the cracks of society and has a lot of lost potential that isn't being really broadcast properly into the world.

She was very reserved and definitely had that vibe of someone who is kinda playing sheepish to gain sympathy.

The reason I joined gamergate initially was a) I was actually the first developer on twitter that really started engaging 4chan gamergate folks when the Zoe Post broke and everyone was very reasonable and nice. Once again, lost to history, but there I was probably one of the first people that all the chan-to-twitter refugees end up following en-masse. I gained about 2k followers over the course of a night and it really freaked me out.

The other thing that happened, directly related to Zoe, was that I met this very well connected socialite in the indie gaming scene who was bragging to me about how Zoe was going to seduce The Mirani just to fuck him over because he was apparently a misogynist who was thirsty for Zoe. This same person bragged about having fucked Zoe as though that was just what Zoe did.

Of course, now I realize that The Mirani and Zoe are connected via Something Awful forums and that a lot of the drama we see on the surface of gamergate is an Old War via notoriously awful women who have built these weird personas online and in the tech world who are now benefiting from this guise of feminism when the truth is they are just Old Trolls who are very experienced in gaming the system.

Most of us got the same impression too. She's someone who's just habitually been caught in a bad place and responded to it in the worst possible ways. She made a lot of bad calls. Most of us Kiwis can understand: desperate people do desperate and often foolish things.

We initially had some conflicts with her due to transparencies with ADF (suicide baiting most obviously), but eventually Rani got involved, there was additional head-butting, and eventually a level of mutual respect occurred. I hope she finds what it is she needs. Nobody deserves to be at that place on a personal level.

It's this kinda rhetoric here that makes me feel like Kiwi Farms behind the scenes is probably fairly tied into the socjus scene in a more direct way than is apparent at first /tinfoilhat.

Can't trust anyone in this wild world of lulz and the ride never ends. ;)
