Dale is absolutely right that Rose knew exactly what she was getting into when having a baby with him, and chose to do it anyways. It doesn't make him any better of a person, but I can not for the life of me understand why Rose went through with the pregnancy when this was the writing on the wall from the very beginning. If she did not want her daughter dragged through the mud with child support battles and court proceedings, she should have simply not had the child in the first place. Personally, I believe Rose is as much to blame for all of this as Dale is. You don't keep a baby in your stomach for 9 months without knowing the father was already going to be absent, she had plenty of time to make the decision.
 
I'm like part of the way with you--I don't think Rose is a good person given how she paraded around with the discord dipshits--but I disagree with saying she's as much to blame. It seems like it's a pretty common hope with people that having a child can repair a relationship, and Dale should have manned up to his decision to have a backshot baby instead of being the stereotypical absent father his race is so known for.

Well remember that Dale didn't contest the parenthood at all to begin with. He just let the court set the payments without even doing the DNA test to prove it. He only started bringing up his daughter existing this year because he was hoping to get out of those payments.

That aside, I think that framing the post that it's her fault for having a child is doing the same monkey brained shit Dale subscribes to.

How is it not her fault? She chose to keep the baby, it's as much her decision as it was Dale's. Besides this I agree with what you said in regards to my opinion. I knew it would be contentious but I felt it would be a good starting point for discussion, and I'm open to having my mind changed.

I mean it's sort of philosophical at that point. Who's fault is it to make a baby, the man for the sperm or the woman for the egg. Personally, it's more fun to blame the guy who would rather stomp a turd down the shower drain than use the toilet.

I don't think we really have a good idea about what happened in that period of time when she was carrying the baby. I'd say that because of how Dale has used the MRA talking points of "the dad should have a say too," I'm willing to bet he was pressuring her to abort. Maybe she was under pressure from the rest of her family to go through with the pregnancy and that's what won out. It's basically just speculation about what went on and why that decision was made. I'd have to review her interviews or the dossier sometime to remind myself about what her position was at the time.

Two people made a child and one ran from his responsibilities. Neither are great for different reasons. As much as she could have chosen to abort, he could've chosen to wrap up or just not have sex with her if he didn't want a kid. Or, at the very least, he could have stepped up as a dad. But instead he carried this fucked narc belief that having a daughter means it's the end of his bloodline and took years to admit she even existed.

But it's not philosophical when a woman can terminate her pregnancy, or the couple can decide as a unit to buy birth control. Women can even be prescribed with birth control. Whether you disagree with abortion or not, Rose had that option and many others.

True, I'm unaware of what her intentions were with the pregnancy. I don't believe not knowing how she felt exonerates her from the guilt of not preventing this situation from happening.

Regardless, I feel no ill will towards you and I wish to discuss this without coming off as harboring contempt for a dissenting opinion. I understand where your heart lies in wanting to blame Dale. I think you're right in trying to find middle ground here.
