Million Pity Pedos
The ringleader of an international network selling videos of monkeys being sadistically tortured and killed has been jailed for three years and three months.
Bartosz Poklek, 30, of Bexley, south-east London, commissioned cruelty, wrote instructions for abuse and distributed thousands of videos and images through online groups.
Woolwich Crown Court heard that recordings sold for up to $500 each, with viewers paying to dictate what happened to the animals.
Operating under the name “BP”, Poklek ran a group called “BP empire” and played a leading role in the online “monkey hate” community.
Officers have deemed the level of abuse too graphic to share in full, after they found over 10,500 files on his computer, including almost 3,000 of baby monkeys being tortured and killed.
Police also found a number of indecent images of children.
Prosecutor Alex Kettle-Williams said he drafted scripts for torture videos and repeatedly requested that monkeys be killed with hammers.
Woolwich Crown Court heard Poklek led several closed online groups, where members pooled money and recruited people overseas, mostly in Indonesia, to capture macaques and carry out acts of cruelty for video recordings.
Members would pay an average of £200 to £500 dollars to receive the content.
The judge said some of the abuse included limbs being amputated and severe burns being inflicted.
Some customers paid to “adopt” a monkey, just for the sole purpose of directing its suffering.
Judge Christopher Grout described the offending as appalling and said he had never encountered animal abuse of comparable horror during his career.
He also challenged the adequacy of the sentencing powers available, telling the court: “If ever there was a case that demonstrates that the statutory maximum for animal cruelty is too low, this is it.”
The judge said Poklek would be released after serving approximately a third of his prison sentence.
The court heard that recruits were drawn from people engaging with animal abuse material on mainstream social media, before moving into groups on Discord and Telegram.
Some monkeys were dressed as babies during the attacks, raising concerns described in court that animals were being used as substitutes for children in sadistic abuse material.
Poklek also admitted possessing child sexual abuse images, alongside publishing obscene videos for gain and possessing ketamine.
An investigation involving British police and US authorities uncovered his involvement in a large-scale monkey torture ring between June 2023 and September 2025.
Today, Poklek was sentenced by Judge Christopher Grout to three years and three months in prison.
His crimes turned prolonged animal suffering into entertainment for paying viewers — with Poklek helping decide how that suffering would end.
Several other people in the UK had already been convicted and sentenced in connection with the monkey torture network, including from West Mercia, Scotland and Merseyside.
Peter Stanley, 44, from Liverpool was jailed for 20 months in September 2024, following a BBC documentary uncovering the network.
Two months later, in Worcestershire, females Holly LeGresley, 39, was sentenced to two years and Adriana Orme, 57, was given one year and three months behind bars.
