For those who are (somehow) not familiar with Calvin and Hobbes, it's one of the most beloved American comic strips ever made. Its premise features a mischievous 6-year-old boy going on adventures with his stuffed tiger Hobbes, who is his imaginary friend. While still being a whimsical portrayal of childhood, the comic also tackled themes such as ethics, authority, and consumerism, all through the lens of childhood imagination. Here are a couple of my favorite Calvin and Hobbes comics so that you can understand its charm:
Something else notable about Calvin and Hobbes is that its creator, Bill Watterson, is so firmly against selling out that he has refused to approve any adaptations or merchandising of his comic strip out of fear of diluting its soul. He also refused to continue his comic past the point he felt was necessary, choosing to end it on a high note instead of milking it for decades on end like Garfield. While he has an estimated net worth of $50 to $100 million, his staunch refusal to license his baby has cost him to the tune of $400 million in revenue. This is something to keep in mind for the abominations you're about to see.
Kayla and Hobbes
Although most fans understood that Watterson ended the strip to preserve its childlike soul, a troon by the name Devorah_Noir took this to mean he should do a reinterpretation webcomic, one where an adult Calvin becomes transgender, starts taking estrogen, and is dating a man named Mark. I shouldn't have to say that this is missing the point of the comic entirely, especially as one of Calvin's key character traits is enjoying his boyhood.

Despite bearing no resemblance to the original comic strip in either tone or art style, and despite the consensus that the magic of Calvin and Hobbes could not and should not be replicated, the webcomic was very well received among the Tumblr and Reddit crowd. However, there were also some of the opinion that this webcomic headcanoning a 6-year old as transgender and homosexual wasn't creepy enough, and that Kayla also wasn't a gross enough tranny. Enter Panthera and Hobbes.
Panthera and Hobbes
The name Panthera comes from this Tumblr post. It's derived from the Panthera genus tigers fall under, which just shows how much thought the trannies put into coming up with their new names.
Another troon by the name of Parawyrm saw this post and was inspired to do his own groomer rendition of an iconic child character, with man-boobs and unemployment of course. The unfortunate part about it is that it actually captures the art style and structure of the original comic rather well, but focuses it all on self-inserting as an immature, impulsive loser instead of grasping that Calvin only acted that way because he was a kid. There is also the unintentional commentary that Calvin never matured past the age of six, which is fitting considering the decision-making skills of troons. Read the comic here:
In conclusion, I hope all readers now understand (if you somehow didn't before) that troons hold nothing sacred, not even the pure, unfiltered encapsulation of childhood imagination that Calvin and Hobbes is, and will stop at nothing to pervert anything you enjoy. I haven't even gotten into how they metastasized and took over the Calvin and Hobbes circlejerk subreddit as that would require me to do Reddit archeology, but in short they started shitting it up with "my favorite character says trans rights" type posts. One moderator who was against these ended up removing a post depicting Calvin starting HRT, starting a tranny revolt that got him removed.
When I see these abominations, I can't help but think that the people who made them have literally zero personality or sense of humor besides making pop culture references and whining about their gender.
My summer was the worst of my life. My mother essentially rejected me, she rejects even to come out to her, constantly avoiding to talk about it(she knows from others and she is just in deep denial she begs me to act like nothing is happening) and she is disgusted and disappointed. Do you know how is like to see your own mother be deeply disgusted with you? I know, and i had 3 months of depression and + working as a man and living a double life killed me to the core.
I developed the idea of a "mother" me. How i would act if i was my own mother? How i would talk about me if i was my own daughter? And i act accordingly. I clean my home, i cook and not eat "rubbish", i push through hard stuff like voice training. I push through the awkwardness of introducing a feminine voice to the friend group etc by saying stuff like "is ok, it will be something new and strange for them but it is for my own good" like a healthy mother will say to her trans kid.
