solar doesn't power vehicles, tanks, aircraft, and a million other petroleum-based necessities. petroleum is also needed for the composites and all their chinesium plastic. unironically, the world has wasted trillions, if not QUADRILLIONS of dollars on cheap bullshit from China that could have become fuel for a country that matters.

Around the 1:45-2:30 mark (you need audio enabled) in that video we can see a prime example of 'urban youth' actually chimping out at police. Not metaphorically, actually acting like pan troglodyte (yes that's where the name comes from). Throwing snow, screeching, whooping, and finally dancing with low-slung pants (ok that's human lol) in front of the emergency vehicle with its lights and sirens on. Slapping of the car while people shout "OHHHHHHHHHH!" A few coalburners seem to join in towards the end of the dance.

I think their calculation is that the USA will move to stop them from taking Taiwan, but we won't reconquer the island if they succeed in taking Taiwan before we can rally. So, to that end they've been preparing sabotage and interference actions specifically to delay a response. Japan arming up to assist Taiwan is a real threat, and the overwhelming success of Japan's renewal party has made that a lit fuse.
Making Chineesium isn't taking potential gas or diesel away from the pumps, I don't think. Plastic is made from naphtha and ethane, byproducts of refining crude oil into fuel and would be waste from the process otherwise, if I recall my high school chemistry correctly.
