really hope that didn't hurt the poor rabbit. basically having a gun shot next to your ears.
Dude I jumped and I was the fucker watching the video!! Poor buddy! Extra treats are a must after something like that!

I wish rats lived longer, I'd love to have an animal that common, domesticable, social and clever that didn't cark it after a few years.
Rats are absolute heartbreakers and it never gets easier when they pass after two years of bonding and companionship. Longest one lived four but thats unusual for them. I used to rescue and give rats "ratirement" homes, my house was very tranquil and quiet and I worked with rodents since I was a young kid so I knew them like the back of my hand. A lot had been traumatised but after a few months theyd open up and trust me finally and snuggle. Saying goodbye to a creature who has gone through all that and finally accepted you wont hurt them is so hard but its part of the process of change in nature. I keep them alive in my memories and by telling these stories. It is the same for rabbits, only a little longer. The sleepless nights cradling old man rats as they passed on i would never take back, im glad I could be there for them and they never wanted to be anywhere else. I remember one had hind leg degeneration and he would only ever want to be in my arms with his head resting in my hand, even to the end it was like that when the vet administered the blue dream once he was under. Beautiful souls.

My old roommate had a couple of rats and I loved them. Super friendly and it was awesome to have them just crawling around all over the couch while we played video games and watched tv. They'd chill out on your shoulder while you walked around doing stuff too.

Then he bought another rat that ended up having 14 babies. That was too many rats and I had to move out because he wouldn't get rid of them.

I don't know why there's a dedicated bunny thread here, but I'm glad that there is.

WE ALL EAT AT THE SAME RABLE!!! Brothers in regrowable incisors we popcorn together!!! Here are some instances of special cute rat/rabbit friendships!
Surprisingly in terms of behavior rats and rabbits get on very well, this is often due to the roles of dominant and submissive grooming being reversed (lol) and the fact that they display many similar behaviors! Out of any animal paired with a rat, bar another rat, rabbits seem to do best in cohabitation, though I will feel very irresponsible if I dont say, do not house them together without an experts opinion, and during playtime, always supervise them!

1771172348131.png Both rats and rabbits are the princes of a thousand enemies according to the terrifying novel Watership Down, so its better to look out for each other and combine rodent strengths! As the book says, many will hunt and try to kill both, but first, they must catch them!

Ah, no, they're a special case. Radioactivity caused a batch of potatoes to gain sentience; that's why some of them are still hairless to this day. Thankfully the only threat they pose is screaming at the top of their lungs when you open the fridge once they figure out that's where the veggies are.
