When I did this out of my own curiosity in mid autumn last year, I first used the assumption of 60 shells per death from a Russian veterans published guide (I Live I Fight I Win), and split the years into 6 month chunks for the sake of shell count calculations, getting a number of 47k dead Russians and 260k dead Ukrainians, then multiplied that number by the same number required to get the Russian casualty count up to the Mediazona one, getting 664k dead for the Ukrainians at the time mediazona had 120k dead for the Russians. Assuming same rate as of now (it isn't, shell ratio changed in favour of Russians, I'm just too lazy to do this), the number would be 913k dead Ukrainains.
