Personally, I'm beyond the libertarian idea that corporations just look at data sheets and seek profits. If he wasn't a useful propagandist for their worldview they'd have replaced him years ago. Instead it seems he's exactly the mouthpiece they want.

Yeah, I don't think the late-night talk shows have been profitable for the networks for years now. Carson, Leno, Letterman, O'Brian, etc., actually drew sizeable audiences, but these days it's almost exclusively nobodies or has-beens and the crowds are a lot smaller (post-COVID the shows relocated to smaller sets, etc.). The ratings are consistently down, too.

I think they've recognized their target demographic is 1) prone to staying up late, 2) too lazy to do anything but watch TV or complain on Twitter, 3) extraordinarily gullible and 4) incredibly stupid. No need for profit when they've got themselves a fast and reliable OTA firmware updater for the NPCs.

Some news I'm trying to boost. Our stupid government is using jeets to ship military hardware. They cant even haul it into the military bases. They park outside the base and beg someone with a license to come over and drive it in. If they dont have the right permit to enter the base, how the fuck are they allowed to ship it? Seems like a national security disaster waiting to happen. How do we know they arent stopping somewhere and letting the chinese fuck with it, for example?
