MY LIFE WITH THE THRILL KILL KULT

...And This Is What The Devil Does!
I love My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, their lead singer, Groovie Man is a nice guy. Some of my buddies used to joke around, calling TKK, death disco, because honestly some of their stuff is kinda death disco. A fun bit of trivia is that the project started out as a movie, it was going to be called My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, but they decided to make the soundtrack first, & the rest is history. Below is one of their slower jams that I’m fond of, more on the industrial side, with goth rock flourishes:

Interesting, I didn't know this.
..Yeah their sound dipps largely into dance(in a good way) and death disco is pretty much spot on.

Goth LPs? Goth LPs.

I'm still so bummed out that the only goth club in my city shut down. I went to a "goth" event on Halloween at some place that's half bar, half art gallery, and they were playing dubstep.
Sadly the only truGoths are few and far between. Most are scene kids or witch house enjoyers larping as 80s depressives for my enjoyment and god bless the attire but fuck their music taste sucks ass. I can't remember the last time I spoke to anyone under the age 30 who even knew who Bauhaus was, and it's not like this shit is obscure by any stretch. MY CULTURE IS NOT YOUR COSTUME.

Seems curious that in an era where literally all the music is at your finger tips (including new stuff) musical knowledge has never been less impressive. Music snobbery/faggotry is mondo obnoxious and gay, but I chalk this up to lack of curiosity and the Netflix effect where sure you can watch new stuff but hey, it sure is simple to just throw on Gilmore Girls again...

Also, to be fair, and this may be an ultra hot take, I'm finding that a ton of new coldwave/darkwave shit is almost indistinguishable from each other. There are only so many ways for you to layer a baritone male vocal track over a simple drum machine without putting in a bit of extra effort.

Here's a shitpost some of you might appreciate:
